When we consider the quality of teaching and methodology of teaching at Faculty of Technology, mostly all the professors were very good especially in mobile computing, advanced computer networks, Algorithms, and Compiler Techniques but for subjects like Advanced OS, Distributed Comp and soft computing they still lack quality academicians.
Also, accessibility to professors was good.
But when we talk of choice of courses, we can say that there is no choice available at all.
But the best thing is scheduling of unit tests, semester end exams, assignments, etc.
FOREIGN EXCHANGE & INTERNATIONAL EXPOSURE
When we talking about international exposure, I didn't experience any foreign language teaching, student exchanges or anything like that at Faculty of Technology.
CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS
There are cultural and art clubs as well as political or social associations present in the Faculty of Technology.
Faculty of Technology has a great social atmosphere.
There is no chance of ragging or any kind of mischiefs.
Mostly all students are very well behaved and the university is very strict about discipline.
The Faculty of Technology has the distinction of being the oldest and the biggest amongst all the faculties of Dharmsinh Desai University. It started as an Institute (Dharmsinh Desai Institute of Technology) offering Diploma and Degree Programs in Chemical Engineering in 1968. Subsequently over the years other degree programs were added. It became the first Autonomous Institute of Gujarat in 1990 and in 2000 it was declared a Deemed University. In the year 2005 it became a part of Dharmsinh Desai University.
The faculty offers four-year engineering degree courses leading to the award of Bachelor of Technology in Computer Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering.
The faculty also offers courses leading to Master of Computer Applications, Master of Technology and Doctoral Programs in various branches of Engineering.
The annual intake of students is around 650 at undergraduate level, and 144 at post graduate level. Presently 50 Scholars are pursuing Doctoral Program under various departments.
There are about 150 faculty members including 10 Professors.
The University further signed a MoU with Bosch-Rexroth in 2013. It provides opportunity for the students to avail special labs, training and studying in Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communications Engineering and Instrumentation and Control Engineering
