Eligibility Criteria for AILET

Qualification
Completed or pursuing 10+2 with minimum 50% marks for B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) course and completed or pursuing LL.B. or an equivalent Law Degree securing a minimum 55% marks.
Age
Minimum 21 years.
Reservation
Minimum 50% marks in LL.B degree.

AILET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Authority: The students must fall within the given AILET 2019 eligibility criteria set by the examination authority to appear for the AILET 2019 entrance exam.

  • Qualifications: The candidates appearing for B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) course, must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum 50% aggregate to satisfy AILET 2019 eligibility.

  • Final year candidates: The candidates appearing for final year of qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for AILET 2019.

  • However, the eligibility criteria are different for different courses which will be discussed in detail below.

For B.A LLB:

  • Qualifications: The candidates should have passed the senior secondary examination (10+2) or any other equivalent examination in India or abroad in order to satisfy the AILET 2019 examination.

  • Marks Scored: The candidates should have obtained at least 50% in the 10+2 qualifying examination.

  • Final year grads: Candidates appearing for the Class 12 examination can also apply for AILET 2019 examination.

  • Foreign Nationals: Candidates belonging to other than India are exempted from the AILET 2019 examination. Those candidates are assessed based on their marks obtained in their qualifying examination. However, they should have obtained a minimum of 65% in their qualifying examination.

For LLM Programme:

  • Qualifications: In order to satisfy the AILET 2019 Eligibility criteria, the candidates should have an LLB or equivalent degree with 55% marks.

  • SC/ST/PWD Candidates: However the AILET 2019 eligibility criteria for SC/ST and Person with Disability candidates are a bit different, they should have obtained a minimum of 50% marks in their qualifying examination.

  • Final year Grads: The candidates appearing for final year LLB Examination in April/May 2019 can also apply.

  • Foreign Nationals: Foreign Nationals are assessed based on their marks obtained in their qualifying examination.

For PhD Programmes:

  • Qualifications: Candidates should have passed LLM Degree with minimum 55% in order to satisfy the AILET 2019 Eligibility Criteria.

  • SC/ST/PWD candidates: For candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories, the minimum mark that has to be obtained is 50%.

  • Final year Grads: The candidates appearing for final year LLM Examination in April/May 2019 can also apply.

The students must fall within the given AILET eligibility criteria set by the examining authority to appear for the AILET entrance exam.

  • The candidates appearing for B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) course, must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum 50% aggregate to satisfy AILET eligibility.
  • To be eligible, the candidates must not exceed 21 years on or after 1 July 2017 (23 years in the case of SC/ST category) for B.A.LL.B. (Hons.) program.
  • The candidates willing to enroll for LL.M. (One year) program & PG Diploma program, must have completed LL.B. or an Equivalent Law Degree securing a minimum 55% marks (for general candidates) and 50% marks (for SC, ST or PWD candidates) for eligibility.
  • The candidates appearing for final year are also eligible to apply for AILET 2017.

Note: If the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, he/she will not be eligible to write the AILET exam.

The candidate has to satisfy All the AILET Eligibility Criteria, not one.

Faking about eligibility or lying about eligibility will not be tolerated and will lead to the cancellation of the candidate's AILET Application.

Elibility for a Candidate applying for postgraduate law programs:

  • Candidates need to have passed LLB Degree or an equivalent degree in order to fill in the form.
  • They need to secure at least 55% of the total marks in the qualifying exam.
  • Those belonging to the reserved category (SC/ST/PWD) need to secure at least 60% in the qualifying examination.
