AILET eligibility criteria 2026 do not have any specific age requirement. NLU Delhi has updated the AILET 2026 eligibility requirements for the LLM (One-Year) Non-Residential and Joint Masters/LLM in Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Management programs. The minimum percentage in the qualifying exam (graduation final exam) for general category candidates applying to these courses via AILET 2026 is now 50%. Previously, the minimum qualifying percentage was 55%.

AILET exam eligibility required for any course is that the candidate applying must have passed their 10th and 12th with a good percentage. AILET 2026 exam will be conducted for candidates who submit the application form. AILET eligibility criteria 2026 involves candidates achieving a minimum of 50% in their 12th or equivalent in any course. Candidates must note that they must fall within the given eligibility for AILET set by the examination authority to appear for the AILET 2026 entrance exam.

  • Qualifications: The candidates appearing for the BA LLB (Hons.) course must have passed class 10+2 or equivalent examination with a minimum 50% aggregate to satisfy the eligibility for AILET.
  • Educational Qualification for BA LLB (Hons): Applicants belonging to the general category must have passed class 12 exams with a minimum of 45% marks from a recognized institute; SC/ST/PwD candidates must score a minimum of 40% aggregate.
  • Final Year Candidates: The candidates appearing for the last year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to apply for AILET 2026.
  • Age Limit: No specific age requirement shared
  • Educational Qualification for LLM: Candidate must have passed or appeared in the final examinations for a five-year or three-year LLB degree.
  • Educational Qualification for PhD: Candidate must have completed a law degree from a recognized institute by the Bar Council of India (BCI) with 50% marks.
  • Nationality: Indian and Foreign Nationals.
  • Reservation Policy: General: 50%, SC: 15%, ST: 7.5%, PwD: 5%, OBC: 27%, EWS: 10%, Supernumerary seats for Kashmiri Migrants/Foreign category candidates.

AILET Exam Eligibility 2026 for Courses

The course-wise AILET eligibility criteria 2026 for the applicants appearing are below. AILET 2026 eligibility criteria are different for all the courses; thus, candidates must check the requirements shared carefully and select the courses accordingly.

AILET Eligibility Criteria 2026 for BA LLB

The candidates should have passed the senior secondary examination (10+2) or any equivalent examination in India or abroad to satisfy the AILET eligibility criteria 2026. The candidates should have obtained at least 50% in the 10+2 qualifying examination. Candidates appearing for the class 12 examination can also apply for the examination.

Foreign Nationals: Candidates from countries other than India are exempted from the AILET 2026 examination. Those candidates are assessed based on the marks obtained in their qualifying examination.

However, they should have received a minimum of 65% in their qualifying examination.

AILET Eligibility Criteria 2026 for LLM

AILET 2026 qualifying requirements for the LLM (one-year) Non-Residential and Joint Masters/LLM in Intellectual Property (IP) Law and Management programs have been updated by NLU Delhi. For general category candidates applying to these courses through AILET 2026, the minimum percentage needed in the qualifying exam (graduation final exam) is now 50%. The previous qualifying percentage requirement was 55%.

To satisfy the AILET eligibility criteria for 2026, the candidates should have an LLB or equivalent degree with 50% marks.

The candidates appearing for the final year LLB examination in April/ May 2024 can also apply.

SC/ST/PWD Candidates: AILET eligibility criteria 2026 for SC/ ST and the PwD candidates are slightly different. They should have obtained at least 50% marks in their qualifying examination.

Foreign Nationals: Foreign nationals are assessed based on their marks obtained in their qualifying examination.

AILET Eligibility Criteria 2026 for Ph.D

Candidates should have passed an LLM degree with a minimum of 55% to satisfy AILET eligibility criteria 2026. The candidates appearing for the final year LLM examination in April/ May 2024 can also apply.

SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates: For candidates belonging to SC/ ST/ PWD categories, the minimum mark that has to be obtained is 50%.
