AP LAWCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria

  • Essential Qualification: The candidates can check the AP LAWCET 2020 eligibility criteria which specify the minimum and essential qualifications which candidates need to fulfil before applying for the undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes in colleges situated in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

  • Domicile: Applicant should be an Indian National. Only permanent citizens of Andhra Pradesh can apply for AP LAWCET 2020.

  • Resident Status: Applicant should satisfy the local/non-local status requirements as stated by Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions.

  • Foreign Candidates: Non-Indian nationals who satisfy the rules laid down by the respective universities may also apply for AP LAWCET 2020.

AP LAWCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria for 3 years LL.B

  • Minimum Qualification: The candidates applying for 3 years LL.B. should have passed a Graduate Degree (in the pattern of 10+2+3) in any discipline from a recognized University.

  • Minimum Marks Required: Applicants should have scored a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in their qualifying degree (42% in the case of OBC applicants and 40% in the case of SC/ST applicants).

  • Age: Age limit is 20 years (22 years in the case of reserved categories).

AP LAWCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria for 5 years LL.B Course

  • Qualification: The Candidates for 5-years LL.B. should have passed the two year Intermediate Examination (of the pattern 10+2) in any discipline from a recognized board.

  • Aggregate: Applicants should have a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in their qualifying board (40% in the case of SC/ST applicants) and 43% marks for OBC category.


AP LAWCET 2020 Eligibility Criteria for LL.M Course

  • Minimum Qualification: Candidates holding LL.B./B.L. degree on the date of application and candidates who have appeared/appearing for final year examination of LL.B./B.L. are also eligible to apply for AP LAWCET 2020.

  • Aggregate: The candidate shall have passed the qualifying examination with 50% marks in aggregate (for OC/BC) and 45% marks in aggregate (for SC/ST) at the time of counselling process. 


AP LAWCET 2020 Academic Qualifications

For Five-Year Integrated Programmes:

  • Qualification: Candidates should have cleared two-year HSC/Intermediate or equivalent qualifying exam of state level in the 10+2 pattern.

  • Minimum Marks: Candidates should have secured at least 45 percent aggregate marks in the above mentioned exam.

  • Reserved Categories: SC/ST category candidates must have secured at least 40 percent aggregate marks in the qualifying examination.


AP LAWCET 2020 Nationality

  • Candidates must be Indian nationals and must satisfy local/non-local status requirements as per the provisions prescribed by the Andhra Pradesh Education Institutions (Regulations of Admission) Order, 1974.

  • Non-Indian nationals may also apply if they satisfy rules and regulations of the concerned Universities.


AP LAWCET 2020 Age Criteria

  • No age limits are currently applicable for AP LAWCET 2020 as per the ruling of Hyderabad High Court in 2016. However, as per BCI’s revised age bar policy, candidates applying for the five-year integrated law programmes need to be below 20 years of age and those belonging to SC, ST and OBC categories of Andhra Pradesh state shall be given a relaxation of two years on the upper age limit.

  • Those candidates satisfying the above mentioned age criteria and appearing for their respective qualifying examinations are eligible to apply for AP LAWCET 2020 provided they meet the minimum scores required for AP LAWCET 2020.

Hello Supraja,

Yes, you're eligible to apply for AP LAWCET. Normally, the eligibility criteria for the degree of LLB (3 years) demands a Bachelor's Degree from any recognised university and LLB (5 years) demands qualification in 10+2 or any equivalent exam.

Regarding age limit for AP LAWCET

Sir, in 2015 itself I passed AP LAWCET securing 140 ranks, at that time I could not join my long time cherished desire course of LAW. Now I am of 43 years, my two children are undergoing the course of LAW. Can I join now at this age, if yes, should I appear for LAWCET again? Reply me, please.
