Pre-Matric Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

Pre-matric scholarship for students with disabilities is an opportunity provided by the government of India. Given below is some essential information regarding the scholarship scheme.

  • The domestic students of the country studying in classes 9 and 10 can register for this scholarship. 
  • In order to be eligible, they must have a valid certificate of disability along with an income certificate of not more than INR 2,50,000 from all sources. 
  • The selected students will be given a chance to provide a scholarship exam for classes 9 and 10 and be rewarded with INR 1,000 per month
  • In addition, the scholarship for class 9 provides other disability allowances of INR 4,000 to the selected candidates.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for Minority Students

Pre-matric scholarship for minority students is an opportunity initiated by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA). This scholarship program of class 9 aims to give monetary support to students who belong to the economically weaker section of society and encourages them to pursue higher education. 

  • Students studying in classes 1 to 9 with an annual family income of INR 1,00,000 per annum can apply for the pre-matric scholarship for minority students. 
  • Selected students will be rewarded based on their class level and category, and the amount may vary for day scholars and hostellers.

Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC Students

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment provides the pre-matric scholarships for OBC students in classes 1 to 9. It aims to provide monetary funds to students whose family income is below the poverty line.

Preferred candidates will be rewarded with INR 500 per month. The scholarship amount may vary for day scholars and hostellers.

National Means-cum-Merit Scholarship

The National Means-cum-merit scholarship is an opportunity provided by the Department of School Education and Literacy for students studying in classes 1 to 9. The foremost objective of the government is to provide monetary assistance and encourage them to continue their education. 

  • Students applying for the scholarship for class 9 should be studying in government-recognized schools with a minimum score of 55%
  • In addition, the candidate's family income should not exceed INR 1,50,000 per annum to be permitted for the selection process. 
  • The government will grant the preferred applicant a scholarship reward of INR 12,000 per annum.

Pre-Matric Financial Assistance for Education of the Wards of Beedi/ Cine/ IOMC/ LSDM Workers

The Ministry of Labour and Employment Development provides pre-matric financial assistance for Beedi/ Cine/ IOMC/ LSDM workers in classes 1 to 9. It aims to ensure that no child works in hazardous sectors as labourers. 

  • To obtain this scholarship, the candidate must be pursuing their academic career from a government-recognized institution with a family income of not more than INR 1,00,000 per annum
  • The selected students will be rewarded with a scholarship amount of INR 1,840 based on their category.

National Scheme of Incentive to Girls of Secondary Education

The National scheme of incentive to girls of secondary education aims to empower the girl students belonging to ST/SC category to pursue higher education. To be permitted for this scholarship exam for class 9, the students must be studying in class 9. The selected girl students will be rewarded with INR 3,000 for their education.

The last date to register for the National scheme of incentive to girls of secondary education was January 21st, 2024 (tentatively).

MOMA Scholarship

MOMA scholarship is offered to the students by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA). It is a centrally sponsored scheme for the minority students of the community. 

  • The family earnings should not exceed up to INR 2,50,000 per annum
  • The qualified students for the scholarship for class 9 will be rewarded with INR 20,000 per annum. However, it may differ for the day scholars and the hostellers.

Kotak Shiksha Nidhi Scholarship

The Kotak Shiksha Nidhi scholarship is an opportunity offered by the Kotak group. The domiciled students in class 1 to graduation can apply for the scholarship. In addition, students who have lost both or either of their parents due to Covid-19 can also apply. The deserving candidates will be rewarded with an amount of up to INR 1,00,000.

Savitribai Phule Scholarship

Savitribai Phule scholarship is offered by the Social Justice and Special Assistance Department, Government of Maharashtra. The government aims to provide monetary assistance to the girl students belonging to the backward section of society. 

  • The domiciled girl students in classes 5 to 9 and who come under VJNT (Vimukta Jati/Nomadic Tribes), SBC (Special Backward Class), or SC (Scheduled Caste) can be permitted for the scholarship exam for class 9. Here, the students appearing for scholarships for class 8 will also be preferred. 
  • The scholarship reward amounts up to INR 100 per month for ten months and will be provided to meritorious girl students studying in class from 5th to 10th.

IIFL Scholarship

IIFL scholarship aims to provide financial assistance to female students belonging to the weaker section of society. Students pursuing their academic careers from class 9 to the undergraduate level can apply. 

  • Applicants must score at least 50% marks in their last examination, 
  • The family earnings should not exceed INR 3,00,000 per annum from all sources. 
  • The deserving candidates will be rewarded with a scholarship amount of up to INR 5,000 based on their class levels.

Vodafone Idea Teachers' and Students' Scholarship

Vodafone Idea teachers and students scholarship is a CSR initiative proposed by Vodafone Idea Limited and aims to aid the teachers and the students who are a part of the government-aided low-income private schools. 

  • The scholarship will cover the educational expenses for the preferred candidates in their respective classes and the teachers teaching in class 6 or above
  • In addition, the selected applicants will be rewarded with INR 1,00,000 and INR 20,000, respectively.

MakeMyTrip 'Padhte Raho, Badhte Raho' Scholarship

The MakeMyTrip 'padhte raho, badhte raho' scholarship program is an initiative by the MakeMyTrip Foundation. This scholarship aims to provide financial aid to those students who lost their parents during the Covid-19 pandemic. The students appearing for the scholarship exam for class 8 will also be preferred. 

  • In order to be eligible, the applicant's family income should not be more than INR 6,00,000 per annum. 
  • The MakeMyTrip 'padhte raho, badhte raho' scholarship program rewards up to INR 50,000 to deserving candidates.
