What is Prerana Scholarship?
The Prerana scholarship portal is an initiative of the Government of Odisha to provide financial assistance to economically weak students of the state to help with their post-matriculation studies. It is implemented by the SC & ST Development and Minority & OBC welfare department of the Government of Odisha. Students belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC/ Minority class are eligible to apply for the scholarship.
The main aim of the portal is to ease the scholarship application process and ensure timely scholarship transfer to the students’ bank account. It has a bar-code provision that helps the officials to filter out fake applications.
The entire application and renewal process is online and students can track the status of their application through the scholarship portal. The Scholarship sanction department works transparently to avoid any disputes or issues related to the scholarship. Both the students and their educational institutions are kept informed on any update through regular Email and SMS alerts.
