Awarded by the Government of West Bengal and its subsidiary boards, the Aikyashree scholarship is for meritorious students of the state studying at the school and college levels. It is provided by the West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation (WBMDFC) to minority students to facilitate more socio-economic and educational opportunities. Different pre-matric, post-matric and merit-cum-means scholarships are available for the students' disbursal. The last date to apply for the Swami Vivekananda merit-cum-means scholarship under the Aikyashree scholarship scheme was is October 31, 2023.

Aikyashree Scholarship Program Types

The different scholarships provided under the Aikyashree scholarship scheme are given below:

Aikyashree Scholarship Provider Details

Each scheme under the Aikyashree scholarship is provided by different departments under the Government of West Bengal. The provider details for all the scholarships are given below:

Aikyashree Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The main eligibility criteria to avail the scholarship is that the student should be a domicile of West Bengal state. The other required criteria to apply for the scholarship is listed below:

Swami Vivekananda Merit cum Means Scholarship for Minorities, West Bengal
  • Students studying in higher secondary level/ diploma should have scored at least 75% marks in the Class 10 examination.
  • Students studying in undergraduate courses should have scored at least 75% marks in the Class 12 examination.
  • Students studying in postgraduate courses should have scored at least 53% (for standard courses) and 55% (for engineering course) marks in graduate level exams.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2,50,000.

Bigyani Kanya Medha Britti Scholarship, West Bengal
  • Only girl students can apply.
  • The candidate should have passed Class 12 from any board and should be pursuing Engineering, Medicine or any Basic Science course from a known institution in West Bengal.

3.

West Bengal Pre-matric scholarship for SC/ ST
  • The candidate should belong to SC/ ST.
  • He/ she should be studying in Class 9/ 10.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 2,00,000 from all sources. 

4.

West Bengal Post-matric scholarship for SC/ ST/ OBC
  • The candidate should belong to SC/ ST/ OBC.
  • He/ she should be studying in Class 11/ 12/ Undergraduate level/ Postgraduate level.
  • The annual family income of the SC/ ST applicants should not exceed INR 2,00,000- INR 2,50,000.
  • The annual family income of the OBC students should not exceed INR 1,00,000.

5.

Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal
  • The candidate should belong to a non-Hindi speaking state.
  • He/ she should have passed the middle school/ higher secondary/ graduation/ post-graduation or any other equivalent degree course.
  • The applicant should have passed the last qualifying examination with at least 60% marks in the first attempt with Hindi being one of the subjects.

Aikyashree Scholarship Rewards and Benefits

The scholarship provides variable benefits for different schemes based on the category and financial need of the candidates. The detailed scholarship benefits are explained below:

  • Variable financial aid of INR 160- INR 1200 per month.

5.

Hindi Scholarship Scheme, West Bengal
  • Variable financial aid of INR 300- INR 1000 per month.

Aikyashree Scholarship Application Period

The applicants should apply for the scholarship before the deadline as they are open only for a limited time period. The dates for the scholarships are given below:

Aikyashree Scholarship Application Process

All schemes under the Aikyashree scholarship are applied online. The step-wise procedure to apply for the scholarship is explained below:

Step 1- Student Registration

  • The applicant should visit the Aikyashree Scholarship official website.
  • Click on the New Registration/ Student Registration tab.
  • The registration form displayed should be filled in with all the personal details like name, district, contact number, email ID, bank details, etc.
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button to proceed.

Step 2- Scheme Eligibility

  • All the academic-related details such as the current institution name, address, marks obtained in the previous qualifying examination, annual family income, etc have to be filled in this step.
  • Click on the ‘Submit’ button to proceed.

Step 3- Students Registration

  • After submitting all the information in the previous step, a list of all scholarship schemes based on the eligibility criteria is displayed. The applicants receive a temporary user ID for the application. Both the user ID and password will be sent to the email address entered in the previous step.

Step 4- Students Login

  • The applicants should log in to the scholarship portal by using the user ID and password provided.
  • He/ she should fill in the details under the ‘Basic Information and Academic Information’ section. The bank account details should also be mentioned.

Step 5- Final Submission Online

  • The candidate should verify all the entered details and any corrections should be made at this stage.
  • After verification, the applicant should ‘Submit’ the application.

Step 6- Offline Submission

  •  Post successful submission of the completed form, the applicant should take a printout of the same and submit it to the head of the institution along with all the supporting documents.

  • Passport size photograph
  • Income certificate
  • Community certificate
  • Mark sheet of the previous academic year
  • Fee receipt of the current course year
  • Bank account details
