The DCE scholarship 2024, provided by the Department of Collegiate Education (DCE), is available to the domiciles of Kerala. The DCE scholarship offers financial aid to deserving candidates from financially weaker backgrounds who are pursuing higher education.

Several subsidiary departments under the state government of Kerala provide different schemes under the DCE scholarship pro. The last  DCE scholarship last date 2024 was February 15, 2024.

DCE Scholarship List 2023-24

There are several schemes available under the DCE higher education scholarship. Listed below are the different DCE scholarship schemes are as follows:

DCE Scholarship Eligibility Criteria 2023-24

The DCE scholarship is specifically available for students domiciled in the state of Kerala. However, the DCE scholarship eligibility criteria vary for each scheme. Tabulated below are the requirements for each DCE scholarship scheme:

ITC Fee Reimbursement Scholarship

  • Applicants should belong to a minority community such as Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists.
  • They must be pursuing ITI courses.
  • The annual family income of the candidate should not exceed INR 8,00,000

C H Muhammedkoya Scholarship

  • Only girl students are eligible to apply for this DCE scholarship.
  • She should be a Muslim/ converted Christian.
  • The applicant should be a graduate with a minimum of 50% marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • Merit seat students can apply to this DCE scholarship.
  • Candidates from self-financed colleges can also apply.
  • Hostel candidates residing in recognised colleges are eligible for hostel stipend.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 8,00,000

APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship

  • Applicants should belong to a minority community such as Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Jains, Sikhs and Buddhists.
  • Only merit seat students can apply to this DCE scholarship.
  • They should be studying in government/ government-funded polytechnic courses.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 8,00,000

Prof. Joseph Mundassery Scholarship Award

  • Candidates should belong to a minority community such as Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Jains, Sikhs, and Buddhists.
  • They should be pursuing 10th/ 12th/ vocational higher secondary education.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 8,00,000

Mother Teresa Scholarship

  • Candidates should belong to a minority community such as Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Jains, Sikhs, and Buddhists.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 8,00,000
  • Students should be enrolled in Nursing/ Diploma/ Paramedical courses.

CA/ ICWA/ CS Scholarship

  • Applicants should belong to a minority community such as Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Jains, Sikhs, and Buddhists.
  • The annual family income of the candidate should not exceed INR 8,00,000
  • They should be enrolled in CA/ ICWA/ CS courses for this DCE scholarship.
  • The applicant should have scored a minimum of 60% marks in the last qualifying examination.

District Merit Scholarship

  • The candidate should be pursuing higher secondary/ vocational higher secondary/ ITI/ polytechnic courses.
  • They should have passed the 10th-grade examinations with an A+ grade in all subjects.
  • The applicant should have studied 10th grade from the Board of Public Examination, Kerala state.

State Merit DCE scholarship

  • The applicant should be pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate courses from government/ government-aided educational institutions only.
  • They should have scored at least 50% marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • The annual family income of the candidate should not exceed INR 1,00,000.

Sanskrit DCE scholarship

  • Applicants should be pursuing graduate/ undergraduate courses.
  • Sanskrit should be a compulsory subject in the course taken.

Muslim Nadar Girls Scholarship

  • The applicant should be a girl child belonging to BPL families or backward communities.
  • She should be pursuing higher secondary/ vocational higher secondary/ undergraduate courses from government/ government-aided science colleges/ institutions.

Music Fine Arts Scholarship

  • The candidate should be studying in a government music college/ government fine arts college.

Blind/ PH Scholarship

  • The applicant should be blind/ deaf/ physically disabled for this DCE scholarship.
  • They should be pursuing courses from government/ government-aided arts and science colleges/ music colleges.

Hindi DCE scholarship

  • Candidates should be pursuing graduate/ undergraduate courses.
  • Hindi should be a compulsory subject in the course taken.

Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship

  • BPL students in 1st year of undergraduate/ postgraduate courses can apply for this DCE scholarship.
  • The applicant should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the last qualifying examination.

Post-matric DCE scholarship for Minorities

  • Applicants should belong to a minority community such as Muslims, Christians, Parsis, Jains, Sikhs, and Buddhists.
  • Students can be from Class 11 to PhD.
  • The applicant should have scored a minimum of 50% marks in the last qualifying examination.
  • The annual family income of the candidate should not exceed INR 2,00,000

DCE Scholarship Central Sector

  • The applicant should have scored above 80% marks in Class 12.
  • They should be studying in undergraduate/ postgraduate courses recognised by UGC/ AICTE/ MCI/ DCI.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 8,00,000

DCE Scholarship Amount 2023-24

The DCE scholarship Kerala amount varies for each scheme. The selected students will receive up to INR 20,000. The applicants can obtain the DCE scholarship selection list on the portal. Tabulated below are the details of the awards under each scheme:

  • INR 7,000 per annum for students pursuing professional courses
  • Hostel stipend of INR 13,000 per annum

APJ Abdul Kalam Scholarship

  • INR 6,000 per annum

Prof. Joseph Mundassery Scholarship Award

  • INR 10,000 for every selected scholar at different levels

Mother Teresa Scholarship

  • INR 15,000 per annum

CA/ ICWA/ CS Scholarship

  • INR 15,000 per annum

District Merit Scholarship

  • INR 1,250 per annum

State Merit DCE scholarship

  • INR 1,250 per annum for graduates
  • INR 1,500 per annum for postgraduates

Sanskrit Scholarship

  • INR 200 per month for students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses

Muslim Nadar Girls DCE scholarship

  • INR 125 per annum

Music Fine Arts Scholarship

  • INR 1,500 per annum

Blind/ PH Scholarship

  • Blind students with annual family incomes less than INR 2,50,000 get a fee waiver.
  • Physically handicapped students (hostellers) with annual family incomes less than INR 4,50,000 will get a hostel fee waiver.
  • Physically handicapped students (day scholars) with annual family incomes less than INR 4,50,000 will get a boarding fee waiver.

Hindi DCE scholarship

  • INR 500 per month for undergraduates
  • INR 1,000 per month for postgraduates

Suvarna Jubilee Merit Scholarship

  • INR 10,000 per annum

Post-matric Scholarship for Minorities

  • Admission and tuition fee waiver of up to INR 10,000 per annum.
  • Up to INR 1,200 per month is provided for ten months as a maintenance allowance.

DCE Scholarship Central Sector

  • INR 10,000 per annum for the first three years and INR 20,000 per annum for the next two years for graduates.
  • INR 20,000 per annum for postgraduates.

DCE Scholarship Application Deadline

DCE Scholarship Application Process

Eligible candidates should visit the respective official portal and complete the DCE scholarship registration process. After registration, they should log in to their profile and fill in the application form. The candidates can apply for the DCE scholarships on the following portals:

 Below are the steps to submit the DCE scholarship application forms: 

  • The applicant has to register on the respective DCE scholarship portal mentioned above.
  • They should enter all the essential details to register on the portal and obtain a valid DCE scholarship candidate login ID and password.
  • Enter the education board details and also personal contact details to complete the DCE scholarship online registration process.
  • The next step is to fill out the DCE scholarship online application form.
  • The applicant should read all the guidelines before starting to fill out the DCE scholarship form.
  • Next, they should select the DCE scholarship scheme and enter the required details.
  • Then, the students should cross-check the completed application form and upload the necessary documents for the DCE scholarship.
  • Finally, the applicant should click on the ‘Submit’ button to complete the DCE scholarship application.
  • Now, the candidate should take a printout of the DCE scholarship online form and submit it at their respective educational institution along with all supporting documents.

DCE Scholarship Renewal Process

The candidates who wish to continue receiving the DCE scholarship amount should submit the renewal form every year. They should check for the renewal dates on the official website and apply for the scholarship accordingly.

In addition, the candidates can obtain the DCE scholarship awarded to students listed on the portal. The steps to renew the DCE scholarship are given below:

  • The candidate should log in to the DCE scholarship portal.
  • They should log into the portal with their previously created DCE scholarship login details.
  • The candidates should check the notification section for updates regarding their scheme.
  • The candidate should click on the notification (if available) and edit/ update the details on the DCE scholarship application form for the respective scheme.
  • The applicant should then upload the scanned mark sheet of the last examination from the current course. In addition, they should also upload other required documents for the DCE scholarship.
  • Finally, the candidates should submit the renewal form and should take a printout of it.
  • The candidate should submit the printout and all supporting documents to the respective educational institution for further processing.

Note: After application, the candidates can track the DCE scholarship status on the official portal in real time.
