 The Pre-Matric Financial Assistance Scheme is reserved to the wards of Beedi/Cine/IOMC/LSDM Workers. Selected students of class 1 to 10 will be entitled with an allowance of ₹250 up to ₹1840. The pre-matric level scholarship scheme is being conducted by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.

Applicants of Pre-Matric level with a family income of ₹10,000 per month (For Cine workers ₹8000 per month) can apply online for the Central government scheme through the National Scholarship Portal. Candidates can submit their applications before December 15th, 2021

Pre-Matric Scheme for the Wards of Beedi/Cine/Mine Workers Eligibility Criteria:

The applicants have to fulfill certain conditions and income criteria, details regarding the eligibility are given below:

  • The scholarship is open only to the Indian wards of the mentioned labors.
  • Either of the parents of the applicant must be working in Iron Ore Manganese & Chrome Ore Mines, Limestone & Dolomite Mines, Cine worker or Beedi sector with a minimum of 6 months service.
  • Wards of Contract/Gharkhataworkers are also eligible to apply.
  • The overall family income of the worker should not exceed ₹10,000 per month.
  • ₹8000 per month or ₹1, 00,000 per year is the income limit for Cine workers.
  • The candidate must have passed previous final examination in the first attempt.
  • Students pursuing full-time courses of general or technical education under government recognized institutes can apply for the Scheme.
  • Scholars already benefiting under any other Scheme are not encouraged to apply for the pre-matric financial assistance Scheme. 

Note: Applicants pursuing courses under distance Schemes are not eligible to apply. 

Pre-Matric Scheme for the Wards of Beedi/Cine/Mine Workers Rewards and Benefits:

Different scholarship amounts are disbursed for various categories such as class, girls and boys:

  • Children of class 1 to 4 will receive ₹250 for purchasing books, dress, etc.
  • ₹940 will be granted to girl students of class 5 to 8 (Boys of the same Matric level will get ₹500).
  • ₹1140 will be disbursed to girls of class 9 and boys can avail up to ₹700.
  • Girl students of class 10 will be granted with ₹1840 and boys of the same level can benefit ₹1400.

 Pre-Matric Scheme for the Wards of Beedi/Cine/Mine Workers Application Process:

Follow the below-mentioned steps in order to apply online for the Pre-Matric financial assistance Scheme:

 Visit the National Scholarship Portal.

  • Click on New Registration on the home page.
  • Read and Agree to the terms and conditions and click on
  • Enter the Scholarship details and personal details such as Scholarship type, category, name, phone number, etc.
  • Enter the Bank Details such as bank name, IFSC, account number, etc.
  • Click on the Register button after giving Aadhar number/Bank account number as identification details.
  • An OTP number will be generated once the mobile number gets verified.
  • Log in with the OTP number and fill the form.
  • Application ID and Password will be given for future reference.

 Note: Candidates are advised to fill the form correctly, hence no changes can be made once the application is submitted. The ministry does not encourage multiple applications as it will lead to the form cancellation.

Important Documents:

List of required documents for the Pre-Matric financial assistance Scheme are as follows:

  • Photo of the Applicant.
  • ID card copy of the worker (For Mineworkers, Form B registration number is applicable).
  • Bank account details of the beneficiary (Copy of the Passbook front page or canceled cheque is applicable).
  • Mark sheet or Passing certificate of the previous final examination.
  • Income certificate affiliated by the revenue authority. 

Note: The Scholar must be having a separate bank account. In case of a joint account the first name must be of the student.

 Pre-Matric Scheme for the Wards of Beedi/Cine/Mine Workers Terms and Conditions:

  • Scholars benefiting under any other Scheme are not allowed to participate in the Post-Matric financial assistance Scheme.
  • Each Scholar must have a separate mobile number.
  • The allowance shall be canceled if the parents of the wards discontinue to be a Mine/Cine or Beedi worker.
  • Either of the parents of the wards should be Iron Ore Manganese & Chrome Ore Mines, Limestone & Dolomite Mines, Cine or Beedi workers with a minimum of six months service.
  • During the academic year, if a Scholar fails to make satisfactory progress, irregular in attendance or found guilty of misconduct, the authority holds the right to cancel the Scholarship.
  • The Scholarship amount will be recovered from the student or his/her parents in case of any violations of the mentioned terms.
