Eligibility for Ph.D Course for Engineering
The eligibility criteria for students from Engineering background to pursue Ph.D courses are as given below.

Engineering: The candidate should have completed a masters degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with a CGPA of 6.75 out of 10 which is equivalent to a minimum of 60% aggregate at the bachelor's level or master's level.

B.E./ B.Tech: The candidate had to possess a bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized university with a CGPA of 7.75 out of 10 equivalent to minimum 70% aggregate marks at bachelor's level and should have published research papers in refereed journals or should have obtained patent files.

M.Sc: The applicants with an M.Sc Engineering degree who had qualified their study from a recognized university should have successfully completed coursework in the first two semesters of study with a CGPA of 7.75 out of 10 which is 70% minimum aggregate marks were eligible to apply.

Research Patents: The applicant should have also published research papers in refereed journals or should have obtained patent files.

M.Tech: The candidates with an M.Tech degree should have qualified their degree from a recognized university who had successfully completed the coursework by the end of the first 3 semesters of their study with a CGPA of 7.75 out of 10, equivalent to 70% aggregate marks with a good research aptitude were eligible to apply.
VTU ULRAT 2023 Eligibility for Ph.D Course for Science
The eligibility criteria to pursue Ph.D course for Science subjects are as follows.

M.Phil: The candidate with an M.Phil or M.Sc degree in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or any other such allied discipline were eligible to apply.

CGPA: The candidates should have possessed a minimum CGPA of 6.75 out of 10 or an aggregate of 60% marks in the bachelor's degree or master's degree level.
VTU ULRAT 2023 Eligibility for Ph.D Course for Computer Science
The applicants had to have the following eligibility criteria to pursue Computer Science Ph.D are as follows.

MCA: The candidate who had obtained a masters degree in Computer Application (MCA) from a recognized university was eligible to apply.

VTU ULRAT 2023 Eligibility for Ph.D Course for Architectural
The university gave admission to students for Architecture course based on the following criteria.

CGPA: The candidate with master's degree in Architecture or any other allied specializations from a recognized university securing a CGPA of 6.75 marks (minimum 60% aggregate marks) at either bachelor's or master's level.

VTU ULRAT 2023 Eligibility for Ph.D Course for Business Management
The students who intended to pursue doctoral level course in Business Management had to be eligible based on the following criteria.

MBA: The candidate with an MBA degree from a recognized university could apply for this exam.
