NEST Application Form 2024 is out. The last date to apply is May 31, 2024.
NEST cut off 2024 will be released by the by NISER Bhubaneswar and UMDAE-CBS. Candidates of NEST 2024 can visit the official website and check the NEST exam cut offs by logging into the official portal with their credentials. NEST exam cut off marks will be released online along with the results.
NEST 2024 cutoff is the minimum number of marks candidates must obtain to be considered for the counselling round. NEST 2024 Cut Off Highlights
NEST cut off marks 2024 include a candidate's sectional and overall cut off marks from the admission examination. The participating institutes' merit lists (NISER Bhubaneswar and UM-DAE CEBS) will be based on the NEST 2024 cut off. Candidates not meeting the NEST Cut Off 2024 for NISER will be disqualified from the counselling procedure.
- Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology would each receive 50 marks.
- NEST 2024 will receive a total of 200 marks.
- NEST cutoff marks, such as SMAS, will differ for each region, as will the MAP for NISER and CEBS.
- Candidates for the NISER NEST cutoff must score equal to or higher than MAP and SMAS in the General portion and all four sections to be placed on the merit list.
- To gain a place on the merit list for CEBS, candidates must score at or above MAP and SMAS in the General portion and any three subject sections.

How will the NEST Cut Off 2024 be Calculated?
Students must get marks equal to or higher than the NEST Cut Off 2024 to pass both the section and the examination and advance to the next admission round. NEST 2024 cutoff is calculated in the following methods.
NEST 2024 Cutoff Minimum Admissible Score
- A candidate's overall score will be the direct sum of the total score in the general section and the best three scores in the subject section.
- The minimum admissible score or cut off marks for each section is 20% of the average of the best 100 scores.
- For example, if the best 100 scores in the Physics part average 40 out of 50, the SMAS for the Physics section is 40*0.20 = 8 marks.
- NEST 2024 sectional cutoff marks will differ for different numerical values.
- Candidates must get a SMAS of or higher in the General section and three of the five topic portions. These sections will then be used to calculate the merit list.
- Section NEST, 2024 SMAS for SC/ST candidates will be 50% of the general category, while SMAS for OBC applicants will be 90%.

NEST Merit List 2024
Candidates will be called to the counselling process based on their NEST 2024 merit list position. Candidates whose names appear on the announced NEST 2024 merit list must register before the deadline. Candidates can view the NEST merit list 2024, as well as the scheduled date, venue, and timings of the counselling procedure. Candidates will be ranked based on their percentile scores from the general part and the best of the three subjects.
NEST 2024: Merit Calculation/Merit List Preparation
- To be included in the NEST merit list 2024, candidates must score at or above a total Minimum Admissible Percentile (MAP).
- The applicants' results in the general section and the three best scores from the remaining subject sections will be used to compile the NEST merit list.
- To be ranked in NISER's merit list, candidates must score equal to or higher than the SMAS and all four topic sections.
- Candidates for UM-DAE CEBS must score equal to or higher than the SMAS in the general portion or any of the three topic sections to be included in the NEST 2024 merit list.
NEST Merit List 2024 Tie-Breaking Process
- If two applicants receive equal marks, the individual who received greater marks in the general section is placed higher on the NEST 2024 merit list.
- In a tie, the applicant with the greater score in any subject portion is granted the higher rank.
- To break the still-existing tie, candidates are assigned a higher rank during counselling based on their Class 12 marks.
- If the tie still exists, the younger candidate is granted a higher rank in the NEST merit list.
