IIT JAM 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • The candidates who qualify in JAM 2019 shall have to fulfill the following Eligibility Requirements (ERs) for admissions to IITs.

  • All candidates admitted through IIT JAM should have a Bachelor’s Degree.

  • In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks or CGPA/ CPI without rounding-off (taking into account all subjects, including languages and subsidiaries, all years combined) should be at least 55% or 5.5 out of 10 for General/OBC (NCL) category candidates, and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for SC/ST and PwD category candidates for IIT JAM 2019.

  • If CGPA/ CPI is on a different scale, it would be linearly mapped to a scale on 10. Candidates with letter grades/CGPA the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute for JAM. Proof of having passed the Qualifying Degree with the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQ) as specified by the Admitting Institute should be submitted by September 30, 2019.

  • At the time of admission, all admitted candidates will have to submit a Physical Fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form. At the time of admission, the admitted candidates may also have to undergo a Physical Fitness test by a medical board constituted by the Admitting Institute. In case a candidate is not found physically fit to pursue his/her chosen course of study, his/her admission is liable to be canceled.

  • Pre-check: For the individuals planning to appear for Indian Institute of Technology, Joint Admission Test for M.Sc (IIT JAM 2019).The first most important step is to know the eligibility criteria. Only if the candidate fulfills the IIT JAM 2019 eligibility criteria, he/ she should apply for the exam as the IIT JAM 2019 Application of ineligible candidates will get canceled.

General Eligibility Criteria for IIT JAM 2019:

  • Instructions: The candidates who qualify for IIT JAM 2019 shall have to fulfill the following Eligibility Requirement (ER) for IIT JAM #yearadmission in IIT's and IISc.

  • Alert: For IIT JAM 2019 Candidates with letter grades/CGPA (instead of the percentage of marks), the equivalence in percentage of marks will be decided by the Admitting Institute(s).Proof of having passed the Qualifying Degree with the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQ) as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by 2019. Candidates are also required to submit the proof of having passed the Qualifying Degree with the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQ) as specified by the admitting institute should be submitted by September 30, 2019 for JAM 2019.

  • Submission of Documents: At the time of admission, all admitted candidates of IIT JAM 2019 will have to submit a physical fitness certificate from a registered medical practitioner in the prescribed form.   • The Admitting Institute has the right to cancel, at any stage, the admission of an IIT JAM 2019 candidate who is found to have been admitted to a course to which he/she is not entitled to, being unqualified or ineligible in accordance with the rules and regulations of the IIT JAM 2019 entrance examination.

Yes. you are eligible to write the exam. General and OBC category candidates must obtain at least 55 percent marks in their graduation and Reserved category candidates must obtain at least 50 percent marks in their graduation to be eligible to write the IIT JAM exam.
