The conducting authority publishes CSAB vacant seat results after completing the JoSAA counselling. The students can check the number of vacant seats available in each NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs to proceed with the admission process.
CSAB vacant seats are furnished after the JoSAA counselling is over. If any NIT+ system seats remain open after JoSAA counselling, they are filled through CSAB-Special Rounds. Furthermore, a separate CSAB-Supernumerary round is conducted by CSAB for admission to supernumerary seats for Union Territories of Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Daman and Diu, and Dadra and Nagar Haveli in a chosen number of NITs, depending on the JEE (Main) rank. Moreover, CSAB conducts CSAB-NEUT rounds to distribute seats to applicants from North-East states and Union Territories.

CSAB Vacant Seats Allotment Process
CSAB's vacant seat allotment process takes place in a particular process. Therefore, candidates willing to take admissions through CSAB must follow the following steps.
- Freeze - all the candidates willing to reserve their seats that are offered to them must avail of the option of freeze seat. However, candidates must remember that once they reserve the seats, they cannot take part in the next rounds of the seat allotment process.
- Slide - This option allows the candidate to move on to the next round. The step is availed by the candidates who want to apply for better seats or other courses. If they are not selected, they will choose the first option given to them.
- Float - Candidates accept the seat provided, but if they discover a programme at another institute with greater options, they will take that specific decision. They will select the first choice shown to them if they are not chosen. These applicants will be taken into account in CSAB special round 2.
- Surrendering and Participating in the Next Round - Candidates want to take part in the second round to have better options since they reject the seat being given. Candidates accept the seat provided, but if they discover a programme at any Institute with superior chances, they will accept that specific decision. The candidate will not be entitled to the seat given to them in the first round, but they may still go to the second round.
- Surrender and not Participating in the Next Round - Candidates reject the seat offered and withdraw from the counselling process. They can not move to round 2 of counselling and do not have to select the first slot either.
