The Indian Institute of Information Technology Kalyani has been setup with an objective to produce best-in-class human resources in IT and to harness the multidimensional facets of IT in various domains. IIIT Kalyani strives to evolve into a world-class academic institution with the highest quality of education and research facilities and produce industry ready IT graduates to meet the industry demands. 

IIIT Kalyani has been set up at Kalyani, West Bengal by Government of India (MHRD), Government of West Bengal and industry partners on a Not-for-profit Public Private Partnership (N-PPP), granting 50 acres of land for setting up the campus.

The industry partners of IIIT Kalyani are Coal India Ltd. and Rolta Foundation for the present. IIIT Kalyani has been attributed the status of Institute of National Importance (INI) by the cabinet in March 2017. Other Institute related highlights are listed below.

IIIT Kalyani Infrastructure Facilities:

The Institute is located temporarily in Webel IT Park at Kalyani. However, the Government of West Bengal has allotted 50 acres of prime land in the Kalyani Township for setting up the Institute. The current campus is equipped with all the basic amenities required for a student. Some IIIT Kalyani facilities are listed below.

IIIT Kalyani Eligibility Criteria:

Below are the eligibility criteria for admissions in IIIT, Kalyani.

IIIT Kalyani Admissions:

• For admission in IIIT, Kalyani Undergraduate program a candidate must clear JEE mains exam. Once this is done seats will be allocated to the student on JoSAA basis.
• For admission to the Ph.D program, candidate must hold Master's degree with good marks in the relevant subject.
• Eligible candidates can fill in the application form along with required documents.
• Application form is available on official website of the Institute.
• After this process is done a written interview will be conducted by the professors of the Institute to test the candidate's ability.  

IIIT Kalyani Hostel Details:

• The Institute provides accommodation for outstation students on payment basis in rented apartments.
• Separate accommodation is provided for boys and girls students. The Institute has hired four hostels, three for boys and one for girls.
• The hostels are well situated accessible to all conveniences (playgrounds, market, railway station, bus stops).
• All the hostels are equipped with WiFi and 24 Hrs security.
• The Institution provides the facilities of mess services in the hostel.
