Indian Institute of Information Technology Sri City, Chittoor is known as IIIT Sri City was established in 2013 by MHRD, Government of India as an Institute of national importance by an act of parliament. IIIT is one of the 20 institutes across India, focusing on Information Technology education, research, and development.

IIIT Sri City Institute was set up by the Government of India along with the government of Andhra Pradesh and industry partners represented by Sri City foundation as a public-private-partnership (PPP) institution. The Institution is governed by the Board of Governors consisting of eminent personalities from the Government, Industry, and Academics. IIIT offers B.Tech, M.Tech, MS, and Ph.D. courses in the areas of Computer Science and Engineering and Electronics and Communication Engineering.

The Institute is located in Sri City, about 60 KMs from Chennai on the Nellore Highway. The nearest airports are Chennai (70 km) and Tirupati (70 KMs). IIITS significantly positioned as an institution known for UG-led research which aims to develop technology-related research that can solve real-world problems and create a positive impact in our day-to-day lives. The Institute also offers students a unique opportunity to actively take part in research which would help create an innovative and entrepreneurial mindset. IIIT Sri City Courses:

IIIT Sri City Infrastructure Facilities:

IIIT Sri City infrastructure campus offers all the facilities such as a Hostel, Canteen, Mess, Library, Computer Lab, Student Center, Sports Arena, Arts Arena, Gymnasium, stationery Store, Grocery Store, Student Club, Career Center, and Wellness Center. 

• Indian Institute of Information Technology at Sri City offers a comprehensive collection of texts, literature, reports, and novels at its Library. The Institute also has a subscription to over 150 journals, magazines, newspapers, and databases, which can be accessed free-of-charge by all Students. All library-related resources are available on a digital platform known as E-IIITS
• Computer Labs are equipped with modern and automated equipment in an air-conditioned environment. Additionally, students are provided access to a campus-network, which can be accessed from the Computer Lab or from personal Laptops, Tablets, and Mobiles
• The Sports Arena will primarily include an open-air Stadium. It will also include facilities such as a cricket field, soccer field, basketball court, tennis court, badminton court, and volleyball court that are offered free-of-charge to Students

IIIT Sri City Scholarships:

The College facilitates financial support to deserving students from banks towards education loans. “National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education for ST students” under which financial assistance is provided to ST students as per scheme norms of IIIT Sri City scholarship.

• An amount of INR 40000/- p.a. for the students belonging to the states of Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi till the completion of four-year graduate courses. Selection will be purely on merit and underprivileged status.
• Students who are above the 80th percentile of successful candidates in the relevant stream for a particular Board of Examination, in class XII of 10+2 pattern or equivalent, and not belonging to the rich.
• Students at IIIT Sri City can avail of the scholarships offered by Government and other bodies. The details of the Government scholarship is available at the National Scholarship portal. The official website of the National Scholarship portal is scholarships.

IIIT Sri City Placements:

Students are recruited by various industries for internships and full-time employment. IIIT Sri City is conducted for the final year students. The companies that came for hiring were of various categories such as multinational companies, successful startups, cutting-edge technologies computer science companies, and core ECE companies. Students secure internships, where typically students from tier-1 institutes of the country get internships. Campus interviews are organized for final year students. Many reputed companies visit the campus to conduct placement drives. Professional trainers train the students to face campus interviews by training them in aptitude tests, group discussions, and cracking technical and HR rounds. Internships of 4-6 weeks should be undertaken by the students to gain hands-on experience and to get exposed to the corporate environment.

IIIT Sri City Eligibility Criteria:

Admissions to CSE and ECE B.Tech programs are done through the Joint Seat allocation Authority in various IIITs Campus in India. Based on the merit ranking in JEE Main, the Joint Seat Allocation Authority or the Central Seat Allocation Board invites candidates for the online counseling programs every year in September to choose the Institute of their choice.

Eligibility Criteria for different courses are mentioned below.

IIIT Sri City Admissions:

For the admissions at IIIT Sri City, the candidates have to apply online and the candidates have to attach the necessary documents along with the application form. Before applying the candidates have to go through the eligibility criteria set by the institution. Candidates should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification from a recognized University or college. Candidates should have a minimum of 50% aggregate (45% for SC/ ST candidates) in the qualifying examination. The basic eligibility to apply for these courses is to pass the 4-year full-time BTech course in two major specializations that include. SC level Examination having Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics as main subjects. The final selection of the candidates will be based on JEE Main rank followed by CSAB.

IIIT Sri City Hostels Details:

IIIT Sri City is a Residential Institute. All students will have to stay on campus, as this creates a community environment and promotes a group education culture during University Life. The Institute offers separate hostels for Boys and Girls. Hostels are equipped with 24x7 safety measures, internet, food and beverage options, cleaner services, and laundry services. Each student is also provided a bed, cupboard, study table, and chair for personal use during the Program. Current hostel rooms are provided based on Twin-Sharing. However, new hostel rooms will have an option of Single and Twin-Sharing.
