NIT Arunachal Pradesh was set up in 2010 under the National Institute of Technology, Science and Research Act of 2007. According to EduRank 2024, NIT Arunachal Pradesh has achieved the 441st rank in India. The institute has been recognised by UGC and approved by AICTE.

The National Institute of Technology Arunachal Pradesh offers UG, PG & doctoral-level programs. B.Tech admission at the institute is based on JEE Main scores along with JoSAA counselling. The NIT Arunachal Pradesh JEE Main cutoff 2025 is expected to range from 35000 to 45000 for B.Tech in CSE. Other programs offered by NIT AP are M.Tech and Phd. Admission to M.Tech is based on GATE scores.

Admission to UG programs is made by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA)/ Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) after appearing for JEE (Main). Admissions to M.Tech. Programs are made by the Centralized Counselling for M.Tech./M.Arch./M.Plan (CCMT). The PhD program admissions are done by the merit prepared from the personal interview and entrance exam scores.
