About JoSAA
JoSAA stands for Joint Seat Allocation Authority. JoSAA was constituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development to manage the seat allocation for 114 institutions for the year 2023-24. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 26 IIITs, and 33 other government-funded technical institutes. What is JoSAA counselling? It is responsible for seat allocation to candidates who qualify for JEE Main and JEE Advanced 2023 and wish to get admitted to IITs, NITs, GFTIs, or IIITs. JoSAA admissions to all the institutes are done smoothly, faster, and more effectively.

JoSAA 2023 Eligibility
The qualification criteria of JoSAA 2023 must be met and fulfilled by the candidates for admission into the participating institutes. Although JoSAA 2023 has not set any particular qualification criteria, the basic requirement is that the candidates must have qualified for the JEE Main 2023 and JEE Advanced 2023 for registering and participating in the seat allotment. It is important for the candidates to keep in the mind the eligibility criteria of the institution to which they wish to apply to. JoSAA 2023 Counselling
JoSAA 2023 seat matrix and participating institutes list is out on the official website. Candidates can download the file from the official website. The seat allocation and counselling for 31 NITs, 23 IITs, 26 IIITs, and 33 other GFTIs are conducted by JoSAA. The reason for introducing a single platform for the counselling process is to reduce the number of Engineering seats that go vacant in various institutions and also to fast-track the process and make it a lot smoother. After the registration process is completed, the counselling process starts.
JoSAA conducted the seat allotment in two formats, once as a mock allocation and the second as a final seat allocation. The mock seat allocation is done to let the candidates have an idea about the colleges that accept their scores in JEE Mains and JEE Advanced. After the mock allotment, candidates will be allowed to make changes to their choices of colleges/courses via the JoSAA login. This process is held in two rounds so that the candidates can filter their college/course choice so that they can get the best one during the final seat allotment process.
The final seat allotment will be conducted in a total of 6 rounds for admission through JoSAA 2023. JoSAA 2023 counselling dates are as follows
