Choice of College

After enrollment, the candidates will have to submit their choices for colleges and courses/programs. The institutions and courses must be chosen by the candidates according to their liking as it will be considered in the seat assignment session. The final allotment, however, is merit-based.

Dual Reporting in JoSAA 2020 Counseling

This means the candidate will have to report to the center twice under JoSAA 2020. It will only be applicable if the allotment has been upgraded at some rounds of counseling. If the candidates were first allocated a seat at the NITs and it got upgraded to IITs or any other institute then the candidates will have to report for IITs as well as the NIT rounds.

In simple words, if the seat of a candidate is changed from IIT to NIT+system and vice versa, then he/she has to report at both of the reporting centers one after the other to make sure that his/her admission is confirmed. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the candidature of the applicant.

JoSAA 2020 Eligibility

The qualification criteria of JoSAA 2020 must be met and fulfilled by the candidates for admissions into the participating institutes. Although JoSAA 2020 has not set any particular qualification criteria, the basic requirement is that the candidates must have qualified the JEE Main 2020  and JEE Advanced 2020 for registering and participating in the seat allotment. It is important for the candidates to keep in the mind the eligibility criteria of the institution they wish to apply to. For the architecture courses, the Architecture Aptitude Test scores are required for registering under JoSAA 2020.

Candidates also need to have and produce correct documents because the same will be verified by the conducting authorities. Hence, it becomes very important for the students to satisfy the JoSAA 2020 Eligibility in every way.

Note: If the candidate won't have any of the necessary documents unavailable with him/her, then he/she will not be considered for seat allocation and admission.

BIT Mesra has 2 rounds of admission - The first one is through JOSAA where you get a particular branch according to the availability of seats and your preference. Once this step is completed, there is an option for internal sliding where you can change your branch if you wish so but this depends on the remaining vacant seats and your JEE Mains Rank. The second round is the SPOT round which is conducted by the college for the remaining seats. You can apply through the website and it takes place after 20-25 days of the end of the first round.
