JoSAA 2019

JoSAA has started seat allotment for the year 2019 on the basis of JEE Main 2019 and JEE Advanced 2019. Check all the information related to JoSAA 2019.

What is JoSAA 2019?

Full form of JoSAA is Joint Seat Allocation Authority. JoSAA was constituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development to manage the seat allocation for 107 institutions for the year 2019-20. It is responsible for seat allocation to candidates who qualify JEE Main 2019 and JEE Advanced 2019.

Choice of College

After enrollment, the candidates will have to submit their choices for colleges and course/programs. The institutions and courses must be chosen by the candidates according to their liking as it will be considered in the seat assignment session.

Dual Reporting in JoSAA Counseling

This means the candidate will have to report to the centre twice under JoSAA 2019. It will only be applicable if the allotment had been upgraded at some round of counselling. If the candidates were first allocated a seat at the NITs and it got upgraded to IITs or any other institute then the candidates will have to report for IITs as well.

In simple words, if the seat of a candidate is changed from IIT to NIT+system and vice versa, then he/she has to report at both of the reporting centres one after the other to make sure that his/her admission is confirmed. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of the candidature of the applicant.

JoSAA 2019 Opening and Closing Rank

The opening and closing rank will be announced after seat allotment result. Candidates can check the previous year JoSAA opening and closing rank to attain idea about how the rank this year will be.

Documents Verification

After the result for seat distribution is declared, candidates should report to their nearest reporting centre for document verification. Only after verification and payment of seat acceptance fees, the applicants will have the capacity to visit their assigned college for confirmation of admission.

Participating Institutions

Candidates who are qualified for JEE Main 2019 and JEE Advanced 2019 will be eligible for admissions into 97 JoSAA 2019 participating institutes.
