NIT Delhi was established in the year 2010. It is an autonomous institute which aims to produce the human resources with more creative, competitive and innovative qualities with high intellect and ethical values. The institute is approved by Ministry of Human Resource and Development [MHRD], Govt. of India.

NIT Delhi is one of the 30 NITs setup by the Government of India. It is one of the top-ranked colleges in India. It offers quality education in the field of Engineering. It offers Under Graduate Programmes, Post Graduate Programmes, Doctorate Programmes to the students.

NIT Delhi Admissions to each course was about 30 which was later increased to 60.  And the admission is through the Central Seat Allocation Board [CSAB]. Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) unveiled the world's most compact supercomputing system in the name of PARAM Shavak.

  • The NIT Delhi Computer Centre was established in 2014 cater the computational requirements of the Institute and is equipped with the latest Technological Resources.
  • The Computer Centre maintains and manages the WiFi facility through rack-mounted blade servers in the campus having High-speed fibre backbone, managed by Layer 4 Switches providing 500 Mbps [1:1] bandwidth Speed.
  • These networking facilities are also extended to Hostel and Residential areas of the campus.
  • The NIT Delhi Central Library was established in the year 2012.
  • All the faculty members, students and staff of NIT Delhi are entitled to access all the library facilities and services.
  •  It has a very good reading room with proper ventilation and natural lighting facility.
  • The library has a rich collection in the field of Engineering and Science & Technology including mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Polymer Science, and Environmental Sciences and also in the field of Humanities and Social Science including English and Economics.
  • The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing [C-DAC] unveiled the world's most compact supercomputing system which has the following Features.

    • 3 Tera-Flops peak computing power with 8 TB of storage

    • Preinstalled tools for scheduling and resource management

  • The student must have a valid score in JEE Main.
  • The student must have completed 10+2 with PCM as subjects with at least 75% aggregate from a recognized university.

 M.Tech

  • The student must have a valid score in GATE.
  • The student must have completed a Bachelor's degree with at least 60% aggregate from a recognized university.
Ph.D
  • The Student must have completed a Master's degree with at least 60% aggregate from a recognized university.

National Institute of Technology, [NIT] Delhi Admission Procedure:

  • The intake in each B.Tech programme has been increased to the strength of 60 students.
  • Admission for B.Tech programmes is made on the basis of the performance in the Joint Entrance Examination [JEE] for the Indian Nationals.
  • Admissions to 50% of the seats are made amongst the students of Delhi & Chandigarh and the remaining 50% seats are made on the basis of All India ranking of the aspiring applicants.
  • The intake in each M.Tech programme is  15 students. Admissions to the M.Tech Programmes are made on the basis of performance in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering [GATE].

A daily routine is fixed, it is around 7 hours per day for 1st-year students and may be lesser for final years. Method of teaching is quite good, each class is having projector and screens. Overall experience is quite good at the college.


CLUBS & ASSOCIATIONS

There are various clubs and society in the college. Be it literature club, tech club, security club, robotics etc. There are 3 fests every year, cultural fest - Saptranga, Tech fest - Terratechnica, Sports fest - Zeal. Life in college is quite good.
