KARePASS (Karnataka ePASS) Scholarship

KARePASS (Karnataka Electronic Payment and Application System of Scholarships) is a dedicated online portal where Karnataka students can apply for scholarships and receive disbursements with ease. The Department of Backward Classes Welfare, the state government of Karnataka, offers several scholarship schemes on the portal and provides financial aid to candidates studying at the post-matric level.

KARePASS Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The ePASS Karnataka scholarship aims to uplift and encourages the candidates belonging to the society's weaker sections. Besides providing Post-Matric Scholarship (PMS), Food & Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS) and Fee Concession (FC), the KARePASS also processes applications of per-matric scholarships and vidyasiri schemes. Given below are the KARePASS scholarship eligibility criteria.

Post-matric Scholarship (PMS)

The eligibility criteria of KARePASS post-matric scholarship are as follows:

• The candidates should be studying class XI and above.
• The family income should not exceed INR 2,50,000 for category one students.
• The family income should not exceed INR 5,00,000 for students belonging to categories 2A, 3A and 3B.

Fee Concession Scheme (FCS)

The candidates applying for the KARePASS' fee concession scheme should meet the following criteria:

• The candidates should be pursuing postgraduate degrees.
• The family income should not exceed INR 1,00,000 for category one students.
• The family income should not exceed INR 2,50,000 for students belonging to categories 2A, 3A and 3B.

Food & Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS)

The students applying for the KARepASS Food & Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS) should fulfil the following requirements:

• The candidates should be pursuing post-matriculation studies in government, government aided or housing colleges.
• The family income should not exceed INR 2,50,000 for category one students.
• The family income should not exceed INR 5,00,000 for students belonging to categories 2A, 3A and 3B.

Vidyasiri Scheme

The candidates can apply for the KARePASS vidyasiri scholarship through the official portal. The Karnataka Education Department offers this scheme, and the eligibility criteria to apply for the KARePASS vidyasiri scholarship are as follows:

• Candidates should be studying at the post-matriculation level.
• The applicants should belong to the SC, ST and OBC categories.
• They should have secured at least 90% in their SSLC (or equivalent exam).
• The family income should not exceed INR 2,50,000 for category one students.
• The family income should not exceed INR 1,00,000 for students belonging to categories 2A, 3A and 3B.

KARePASS Scholarship Rewards

The KARePASS scholarship amount differs for each scheme. The portal will ensure smooth disbursement of the KARePASS scholarship amount to the beneficiary's bank account. The rewards are:

• The selected students will receive a KARePASS Post Matric Scholarship amount of INR 3,500 per annum. 
• The Karnataka government will award upto INR 1,500 each month for Food & Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS). The selected candidates will receive this KARePASS scholarship amount for ten months.
• The Fee Concession Scheme (FCS) chosen students will receive a KARePASS scholarship amount of INR 1,750 per annum towards training fee, sports fee, and readers charges.

How to Apply for KARePASS Scholarship?

Before applying for KARePASS merit scholarship schemes, the candidates should ensure they meet all the eligibility criteria. They can apply online through the official portal. To know how to apply for the KARePASS scholarship, the candidates can refer to the following steps:

Step 1 - The candidates should visit the official KARePASS portal.

Step 2 - They should scroll down to the student zone section at the bottom of the KARePASS portal.

Step 3 - The candidates should choose and click on the scheme.

Step 4 - They should now fill in the details of the KARePASS scholarship application form. 

Step 5 - After filling in all the details, the candidates should upload the mandatory documents required for the KARePASS scholarship application 2023.

Step 6 - The candidates can complete the application process by clicking on 'submit'.

Note: They should take a print-out of the KARePASS scholarship application form after submitting it for further reference.

How to Renew KARePASS Scholarship?

The candidates can renew the KARePASS merit scholarship schemes at the end of its duration. The renewal process of the KARePASS scholarship are as follows:

Step 1 - The candidates should visit the official KARePASS portal.

Step 2 - The candidates should scroll down to the student zone section on the homepage.

Step 3 - Under the student zone, the candidates should click on 'fresh and renewal registrations for PMS FAAS, FC and NUR'.

Step 4 - The candidates should log in to the KARePASS portal by entering their previous year's registration number, password and click on 'go'.

Step 5 - They should fill in the KARePASS scholarship renewal form with the necessary details and click on 'submit'.

Documents Required for KARePASS Scholarship Schemes

The candidates should keep the documents handy before applying for the ePASS Karnataka scholarship. The details in the documents should contain accurate and factual information. The mandatory documents to submit while applying for the KARePASS scholarship are as follows:

• The candidate's admission certificate
• Bank passbook containing the beneficiary's name, account number, bank's name, branch and IFSC code
• Bonafide certificate from their school or college
• Aadhaar number
• Their parent's aadhaar number
• Caste certificate
• Income certificate issued by the competent authority
• Their residential certificate
• Transfer certificate (TC)

The candidates should keep their KARePASS scholarship application number safe and confidential. However, if they lose it, the candidates can retrieve the KARePASS scholarship application number with ease.

Step 1 - The candidates should visit the official portal.

Step 2 - They should click on 'know your application number' under the 'student services' section.

Step 3 - The fresh applicants should click on 'fresh', and the applicants who are renewing the KARePASS merit scholarship scheme should click on 'renewal'.

Step 4 - They should fill in the details such as SSLC examination number, SSLC pass type, date of birth, year of passing the SSLC exam and select the academic year.

Step 5 - After entering the CAPTCHA, the day-scholars should click on the 'get scholarship details' button.

Step 6 - The candidates who have applied for hostel facilities should click on 'get hostel details'.

After successfully submitting the ePASS Karnataka scholarship application form, the candidates can check the status online through the official portal. They can track the KARePASS scholarship status by following these simple steps:

Step 1 - The candidates should visit the official KARePASS scholarship portal.

Step 2 - They should click on 'application status' under the student service tab.

Step 3 - The candidates should fill in the details such as application number, SSLC board, SSLC register number, academic year, SSLC exam passing year, and birth date.
