What is the KARePASS Scholarship?

KARePASS is an online scholarship disbursal portal initiated by the Department of Backward Classes Welfare, Government of Karnataka which provides Post-matric scholarships to the backward class students who are domicile of Karnataka state. The scholarship is provided to students from SC/ ST/ OBC categories pursuing 12th/ Undergraduate/ Postgraduate courses. The primary goal of KARePASS is the educational upliftment of underprivileged students. A variable KARePASS scholarship amount is granted to the different schemes under the KARePASS scholarship and the scholarship grant is credited to the candidate’s bank account directly through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT).

KARePASS Portal Key Features:

The KARePASS portal aims at providing a hassle-free scholarship disbursal system for the deserving candidates. The facilities offered by the portal are given below:

  • Candidates have the provision to know the application number: The candidates who have forgotten their KARePASS scholarship application number can find it in the KARePASS portal. The candidate should enter details such as SSLC examination number, SSLC pass type, date of birth, year of pass, and academic year.
  • Applicants can check the application status: The applicants can track the real-time status of their application through the KARePASS portal by entering details such as application number, academic year, SSLC pass type, pass year, SSLC Registration number, and Date of birth.
  • Candidates can check the hostel status: The candidates can get the hostel application status through the KARePASS portal by entering the application number and date of birth.
  • Pratibha Acknowledgment: The candidates can download the acknowledgment receipt of the Pratibha Puraskar scholarship through the KARePASS portal either by entering the Applicant reference number or by providing details such as SSLC pass type, SSLC registration number, SSLC pass year, and date of birth.

KARePASS Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

The KARePASS scholarship is provided to economically backward students belonging to Karnataka state. The other eligibility criteria required for the scholarship application are given below:

Post-matric Scholarship (PMS)

  • The applicant should be pursuing any post-matric level degree.
  • He/ she should belong to SC/ ST/ OBC category and should be a domicile of Karnataka state.
  • The annual family income of the candidate under Category 1 should not exceed INR 1,50,000 from all sources
  • The annual family income of the applicants under Category 2A, 3A, and 3B should not exceed INR 2,00,000 from all sources.

Food and Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS)

  • The applicant should be pursuing a post-matriculation level of education in Government/ Government-aided college.
  • He/ she should belong to SC/ ST/ OBC category and should be a domicile of Karnataka state.
  • The annual family income of the candidate under Category 1 should not exceed INR 2,50,000 from all sources
  • The annual family income of the applicants under Category 2A, 3A, and 3B should not exceed INR 5,00,000 from all sources.

Fee Concession Scheme (FCS)

  • The applicant should be pursuing a Postgraduate course from any recognized college/ university.
  • He/ she should belong to SC/ ST/ OBC category and should be a domicile of Karnataka state.
  • The annual family income of the candidate under Category 1 should not exceed INR 1,00,000 from all sources
  • The annual family income of the applicants under Category 2A, 3A, and 3B should not exceed INR 2,50,000 from all sources.

KARePASS Scholarship Rewards and Benefits:

The different schemes under the KARePASS scholarship receive variable benefits. The detailed scholarship benefits for the schemes are given below:

  • Selected candidates receive a scholarship amount of INR 3500 per annum.

2.

Food and Accommodation Scholarship (FAAS)

  • Selected candidates receive a scholarship amount of INR 1500 per month for a period of 10 months.

Fee Concession Scheme (FCS)

  • Selected candidates get a scholarship amount of up to INR 1750 per annum which includes Training fee, Laboratory fee, sports fee, and readers charge.

KARePASS Scholarship Application Process:

The KARePASS scholarship application form is accessed and submitted online through the KARePASS scholarship portal. The step by step application process is given below:

  • Interested applicants should visit the KARePASS Scholarship online portal.
  • The candidate should look for the scholarship notification displayed on the homepage.
  • He/ she should click on the ‘Apply Online’ button on the homepage.
  • The student should read all the application guidelines carefully and should register as a fresh applicant on the KARePASS portal.
  • The candidate should select the option for 'Fresh Application'.
  • The applicant should fill in all the required details in the KARePASS scholarship application form and upload all the necessary supporting documents along with the application form.
  • Finally, the candidate should check the application for the correctness and click on ‘Submit’ to complete the application process.

KARePASS Scholarship Documents Required:

The important documents to be submitted along with the KARePASS scholarship application form are listed below:

  1. Aadhar card of the candidate
  2. Aadhar card of candidates’ parent/ guardian
  3. Caste certificate
  4. Copy of the Bank passbook 
  5. Income certificate
  6. Bonafide certificate from the respective college
  7. SSLC certificate
  8. Residential certificate

KARePASS Scholarship Status Check:

The step-wise details to check the KARePASS Scholarship application status is given below:

  • The applicant should visit the KARePASS scholarship portal.
  • He/ she should click on the ‘Student Services’ tab on the homepage.
  • The candidate should click on the ‘Application Status’ option from the dropdown list.
  • All the required details should be entered such as application number, academic year, SSLC pass type, pass year, SSLC Registration number, and Date of birth.
  • Finally, the candidate should click on the ‘Get Status’ button and the KARePASS Scholarship Application Status is displayed on the screen.
