Overview

There are over 1,500 orphanages in Kerala, and around 75,000 children who are below the age of 18 years living in orphanages. The statistics reveal that 80% to 90% of the children in orphanages have extended families. Most children living in the orphanages have no access to proper shelter and nutritious food. The government understands the gravity of the current situation faced by these children. Therefore, the state government of Kerala launched the Snehapoorvam scholarship through the social security mission of Kerala. The orphans and abandoned children will receive financial support.
