Umbrella Scholarship

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs has initiated the Umbrella Scholarship for ST students under the government of India. They offer financial aid to domiciles of Arunachal Pradesh belonging to the Scheduled Tribe (ST). The Umbrella scheme for ST scholarship is available to students from class 9 to post-matric level. The primary goal of the pre-matric Umbrella scholarship scheme is to support the education of ST students and reduce the incidence of drop-outs in the transition from elementary to the secondary level of education. The Umbrella scholarship's last date to submit applications will be notified soon.

 Umbrella Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The providers award the Umbrella scheme scholarship amount to students belonging to the ST category. They should fulfil the requirements before submitting their applications online. Given below are the Umbrella scholarship eligibility criteria for the pre-matric and post-matric ST students in Arunachal Pradesh:

• The applicant should be a domicile of Arunachal Pradesh.
• They should belong to the ST category.

For Pre-Matric Umbrella Scholarship

• Students pursuing classes 9 and 10 education from a government/ state/ central board schools can apply for the pre-matric Umbrella scholarship.
• The annual family income of the pre-matric Umbrella scholarship applicants should not exceed INR 2,00,000 from all sources.
• The candidates should not be receiving any other centrally funded scholarship.

For Umbrella Post Matric Scholarship

• The candidate should have passed the matriculation or higher secondary from any recognized university/ institution or Board of Secondary Education can apply for the post-matric Umbrella scholarship.
• The student should be pursuing post-matriculation level education (class 11 or higher).
• The annual family income of the post-matric Umbrella scholarship applicants should not exceed INR 2,50,000 from all sources.

Umbrella Scholarship Rewards and Benefits

The Umbrella online scholarship provides a variable maintenance allowance and an annual allowance to all the students fulfilling the eligibility criteria. The details of the Umbrella scholarship amount are as follows:

• The students must pay enrollment/ registration fees, tuition, games, union, library, magazine, medical examination, and other expenses to their respective institution/ university/ board.

Umbrella Scholarship Application Process

The candidates can submit the Umbrella scholarship applications online. They can visit the official National Scholarship Portal (NSP), register themselves, provide the Umbrella scholarship login details and fill in the application forms. Read below to learn how to apply for the Umbrella scheme scholarship 2023:

• Visit the National Scholarship Portal Umbrella scheme.
• Next, click on the ‘New Registration’ tab on the dashboard.
• A registration guidelines web page is displayed, read all the instructions carefully, select the undertaking checkboxes, and click the ‘Continue’ button.
• Then select the state of domicile and enter the scholarship category, scholarship scheme type, name, gender, DOB, mobile number, and email ID.
• Provide the bank details such as the bank name, IFSC code, account number, etc.
• Next, select the aadhar number/ bank account number as identification details and click the ‘Register’ button.
• The mobile number entered is verified, and an OTP is sent to the registered mobile number.
• Provide the Umbrella scholarship login credentials on the portal.
• Next, fill in the Umbrella scholarship application form after logging into the dashboard.
• Fill in the details, as changes cannot be made after submitting the Umbrella scholarship application form.
• Every applicant should submit only one form, as multiple applications will lead to the cancellation of the Umbrella scholarship application form.
• After completing the application form, an application ID and password are generated for future reference.

Umbrella Scholarship Documents Required

The candidates should provide valid documents while applying for the scholarship. They should ensure the documents contain authenticated information. Listed below are the supporting documents required for Umbrella scholarship application:

• Passport size photograph of the applicant
• Scheduled Tribe (ST) certificate attested by the authorized Revenue Officer.
• Income certificate of the candidate’s parents/ guardian
• Domicile certificate

Umbrella Scholarship Terms and Conditions

The terms and conditions to be fulfilled by the pre-matric and post-matric students for the Umbrella scholarship Arunachal Pradesh 2023 schemes are given below:

Pre-matric Umbrella Scholarship

• The Umbrella scholarship amount is awarded for one year. Students repeating the same class in the subsequent year will not be receiving the benefit.
• The Umbrella scholarship amount is disbursed only for ten months in an academic year.
• Based on good conduct and regular attendance, the scholarship will be renewed for class 10 after the candidate passes class 9.
• The providers can change the benefits offered under the Umbrella scholarship scheme at the discretion of the Government of India.
• If any candidate is found to have received the scholarship by dishonest means, their scholarship is cancelled, and the Umbrella scholarship amount paid will be recovered.

Umbrella Post-matric Scholarship

• The scholarships are provided for pursuing education in India only.
• The Umbrella scholarship 2023 Arunachal Pradesh also covers central assistance to the states/ union territories to set up book banks.
• If any candidate has received the scholarship by dishonest means, the providers will cancel the Umbrella scheme scholarship Arunachal Pradesh and the scholarship amount paid will be recovered.
