The Ashirwad scholarship is, provided by the state government of Punjab, is available to the domiciles of Punjab belonging to the SC/ ST/ OBC categories. The objective is to support deserving students from economically weaker sections aspiring to pursue higher education. Eligible students aspiring to pursue UG/ PG degrees can apply for the Punjab Ashirwad scholarship online. The state government has allocated 40% of the Ashirwad scholarship 2021 programme for female candidates. The readers should note that the Ashirwad scholarship last date mentioned above is tentative and can change at the provider's discretion.

Ashirwad Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The Ashirwad scholarship schemes are available to the domiciles of Punjab. They should fulfil the requirements for applying for the scholarship. Listed below are the Ashirwad scholarship eligibility criteria: 

  • The candidate should be a Punjab domicile belonging to SC/ ST/ OBC category.
  • The students should have passed Class 10th from a government/ private recognized college or board of secondary education in Punjab.
  • The applicant's age should not be less than 17 years while applying for the Ashirwad scholarship Punjab.
  • The annual family income of the SC/ ST candidate should not exceed INR 2,50,000 from all sources.
  • The annual family income of the OBC applicant should not exceed INR 1,00,000 from all sources.
  • Students pursuing distance learning/ correspondence courses can apply to the Ashirwad scholarship.
  • Applicants pursuing post-graduation in medicine can apply for the Ashirwad scholarship provided they are not practising during the course.
  • The student applying for the Ashirwad scholarship should not be receiving any other scholarship benefits from any other source.

Ashirwad Scholarship Rewards and Benefits

The selected students will receive the Ashirwad scholarship amount. However, the amount will vary for different courses. The government will disburse the rewards through the DBT (Direct Benefit System) system. Tabulated below are the Ashirwad scholarship amount for different courses:

Group 1- UG/ PG level courses in Medicine, Engineering, Technology, Planning, Architecture, Design,  Fashion Technology, Agriculture, Veterinary and allies sciences, Management, Business Finance/ Administration, Computer Science/ Applications, Commercial Pilot Licence,  PG diploma courses in Management and Medicine, CA, ICWA, CS, ICFA, LLM, MPhil/Ph.D./ Post-doctoral Programmes.

  • Maintenance allowance of INR 1200 to hosteller and INR 550 to day scholars.
  • Thesis printing charges of INR 1600
  • Study tour charges of INR 1600
  • Book allowance of INR 1200
  • Reader allowance of INR 240

Group 2- Professional courses that lead to Degree/ Diploma/ Certificate in Pharmacy, Nursing, LLB, BFS, Mass Communication, Hotel Management & Catering, Travel, Tourism, Hospitality Management, Interior Decoration, Nutrition & Dietetics, Commercial Arts, Financial Services for which minimum level of study is Class 12 and other PG courses not covered in Group 1 such as MA, M.Sc, M.Com, M.Ed, MPharma.

  • Maintenance allowance of INR 820 to hosteller and INR 530 to day scholars.
  • Thesis printing charges of INR 1600

How to Apply for Ashirwad Scholarship?

The Ashirwad scholarship application is an online process. The candidates can obtain the application form on the Ashirwad scholarship portal Punjab. Interested applicants should submit the Ashirwad scholarship form 2021 within the stipulated time. The detailed application procedure is given below:

  • Interested applicants should visit the Punjab Ashirwad scholarship official website.
  • They should then click on the 'Post-matric Scholarship Portal' under the 'Students Corner section.
  • The applicant should click on the ‘Student Registration’ tab to complete the Ashirwad scholarship registration process as a new user. The system will generate a user ID and password after a successful registration.
  • The candidate should then enter the Ashirwad scholarship student login details on the portal using the registered User ID and password.
  • The applicant has access to the Ashirwad scholarship online application form. They should fill the form with all the required details.
  • The student should then recheck all the entered details thoroughly to avoid the State Education Board rejecting the application.
  • The candidate should upload all the necessary documents and 'Submit' the application form on the Ashirwad scholarship portal.
  • Finally, the applicant should take a printout of the completed Ashirwad scholarship online form for future reference.

Ashirwad Scholarship Documents Required

The candidates should upload essential documents while applying for the Ashirwad scholarship in Punjab. They should scan the documents and upload them in the prescribed format. Listed below are the required documents for the Ashirwad scholarship:

  3. 2 passport size photographs
  4. Attested copy of school/ college mark sheets/ certificates

Ashirwad Scholarship Renewal Process

All existing candidates should renew the Ashirwad scholarship to continue receiving the benefits. They should submit the Ashirwad scholarship renewal application forms every year on the portal. However, they should have a minimum attendance of 75% in the previous academic year. The Ashirwad scholarship renewal process is explained below:

  1. Renewal candidates should visit the Punjab Ashirwad scholarship portal.
  2. The applicant should log in with their existing Ashirwad scholarship login details.
  3. The student should make any changes/modifications to the Ashirwad scholarship application form if required.
  4. Finally, the candidate should cross verify and 'Submit' the edited Ashirwad scholarship application form.
  5. A copy of the submitted application form has to be taken for future reference.
  6. The candidates can check the Ashirwad scholarship status on the portal.
