The Prize Money scholarship, initiated by the department of social welfare under the government of Karnataka, offers monetary support to students belonging to the Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe (SC/ST) category. Therefore, the SC/ST students pursuing II PUC, diploma, professional courses, undergraduate degrees or postgraduate degrees can apply to the programme. However, the prize money scholarship is exclusively available to the domiciles or permanent residents of Karnataka. The government of Karnataka offers the prize money scholarship to the students from the SC/ST category who are domiciled in Karnataka. There is no income limit for students applying for the programme. Given below are the prize money scholarship details of the eligibility criteria:

• The candidates should be Karnataka domiciles.
• They should belong to the SC/ST category.
• They should have cleared the previous qualifying examination on the first attempt.
• The candidates should be pursuing one of the following courses in a government recognised institution:
• II PUC
• Polytechnic Diploma (three-year course)
• Bachelor's degree (general)
• Master's degree
• Professional courses like engineering, medicine, veterinary, agriculture

Prize Money Scholarship Amount

The state government of Karnataka offers the prize money scholarship amount of up to INR 35,000 to the selected students. However, the amount will vary based on the courses they are pursuing. Tabulated below are the reward details of the online prize money scholarship 2023 Karnataka scheme:

Those who have cleared the last qualifying exam in 2023 can apply for the prize money scholarship by October 30th. Step 1: The candidates should visit the official prize money scholarship website.

Step 2: They should click on the online application link available on the right side of the screen.

Step 3: Next, the candidates should register by providing their aadhaar number, gender, etc.

Step 4: To complete the verification process, they should solve a simple math problem and click on proceed.

Step 5: Following that, they should add their SSLC details, select the caste from the dropdown, and click the submit button.

Note: If the applicants have cleared the Karnataka SSLC board exams before 2003 or completed class X through the ICSE, CBSE or other board, they should contact the TSWO/ TTWO office.

Step 6: After completing the prize money scholarship registration, the candidates can access the application form.

Step 7: Therefore, they should provide the prize money scholarship login details, duly fill in the application form and add their college details.

Note: If the candidates cannot find their college, they should visit the social/tribal welfare district office and request that they add the college to the official prize money scholarship website.

Step 8: The applicants should read and agree to the terms and conditions by ticking the box.

Step 9: Lastly, they should click on the proceed button to complete the application process.

Required Prize Money Scholarship Documents

The candidates should submit the essential documents in the prescribed format while applying for the prize money scholarship. In addition, they must ensure they submit authenticated records containing factual information.

Marks Defined by Prize Money Scholarship

The district social welfare department officers will consult the vice-chancellor, registrar or principal of the concerned university to decide the OGPA or CGPA course percentage. The authorities will either approve or reject the prize money scholarship applications based on the decisions made by the committee.
