TS PGECET 2019 Application Form, Dates, Syllabus, Exam Pattern

• About: Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test, commonly known as TS PGECET, is a well-known entrance examination conducted to provide admissions to various Post Graduate programmes such as ME, M.Tech, M.Pharmacy, M.Arch, and various other courses.

• Level: Telangana State Post Graduate Engineering Common Entrance Test (TS PGECET) is a State Level Entrance Examination for admission into Regular PG Courses.

• Conducting Authority: The University College of Engineering, Osmania University, conducts TS PGECET on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) and allocates seats to applied candidates.

• Background: The TSCHE is primarily a coordinating body between the UGC and State Government and the Universities. It conducts various entrance tests namely TS EAMCET, TS ICET, TS ECET, TS PGECET for the candidates residing in the Telangana State.

• Frequency: TS PGECET Exam is conducted once a year usually in the month of May for those candidates who are seeking admissions into different PG Courses.

• Courses offered: Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Pharmacy  (ME / M.Tech./ M.Pharmacy / M.Arch ), Graduate level Pharm-D (Post Baccalaureate) are the courses that are offered through TS PGECET for the academic year 2019.

• Exceptions: GATE and GPAT qualified candidates are exempted from attempting TS PGECET examination. They can directly apply for Counselling procedure of TS PGECET 2019.

TS PGECET 2019 Important Dates

• The Application Forms will be available from 13th March 2019 for the eligible candidates who wish to apply for the examination. The last date for submission of application forms will be around 30th April 2019.

• Admit Card will be available for the applicants on the official website from 21st May 2019.

• TS PGECET 2019 will be held on 28th May 2019.

• Counselling sessions will commence from August 2019.

TS PGECET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

• Qualification: The Candidate must hold a bachelor's degree with respect to the stream they opt for and should have a minimum aggregate of 50% for General Category and 45% for the Reserved Categories.

• Domicile: Candidates opting for the exam must be a Citizen of India and should hold a domicile of Telangana/Andra Pradesh.

• Age limit: There is no age limit for candidates to appear for TS PGECET 2019.

TS PGECET 2019 Syllabus

• Syllabus for TS PGECET 2019 will include chapters from Bachelors degree level for respective papers.

• There will be different syllabus for each discipline and will depend on what the candidate opts. In order to score more marks in the exam, the candidates can refer to the reference section for prescribed books that will help to fetch more marks.

TS PGECET 2019 Exam Pattern

• Mode: The examination will be held as Online (CBT) mode.

• Duration: TS PGECET 2019 will be of 2 hours.

• Type of questions: Question paper will consist of Multiple Choice Questions and candidates will be required to answer anyone out of the given choices. 

• Marking Scheme: For each correct answer, candidates will get +1 mark. There is no negative marking for incorrect answer.

TS PGECET 2019 Application Form

• Details: The candidates should enter details such as personal details, qualification details, contact details etc while filling the application form. The candidates applying for TS PGECET 2019 have to select the group of examination while filling the application form, as per their choice of PCM, PCB & PCMB. 

• Application Fee: The Application Fee for TS PGECET 2019 is INR 400/- for SC/ST category Candidates and INR 800/- for General candidates. The application fee can be paid in either of the methods such as Credit/Debit or TS/AP online Centres.

TS PGECET 2019 Exam Centre

• The TS PGECET 2019 exam will be conducted at various exam centres across Hyderabad and Telangana.

• All details regarding the exam centre, centre code, and centre address will be mentioned on the Admit card.

TS PGECET 2019 Admit Card

• Candidates can download the Admit Card from the official website from 21st May 2019.

• The Admit Card contains details such as Registration Number, exam Centre, examination Date and Time, candidates photo etc. To download the admit card for TS PGECET 2019, the candidate needs to enter registration number and password and log into the official portal. 

• It is mandatory to carry the admit card along with an identity proof to the examination hall, failing to which the candidate will not be allowed to enter the examination hall.

TS PGECET 2019 Counselling

• The Counselling process will be commenced from 16th July 2019 after the declaration of the Results.

• Candidates must have to present in person along with original documents on the day of counselling for the document verification procedure. Candidates can participate in the counselling rounds as per their ranks mentioned on the merit list.

• GATE and GPAT qualified candidates can directly apply for the Counelling procedure.
