Institute of Chemical Technology was established by the University of Mumbai as the Department of Chemical Technology in 1933. The Institute has produced many industrialists, bureaucrats, academics, Padma awardees and managers to Government Departments with over 500 first-generation entrepreneurs along with its 78 glorious years.
The institute produced some of the topmost academics and industrialists with strong connections in the industry. ICT Mumbai has a library on the campus. The library is a three-storied structure with a book collection and circulation counter. Bound volumes and latest journals, photocopying section, reference book section, theses section and book bank section are available in the library. The library has more than 500 electronic journals. Institute of Chemical Technology has a completely computerized library.
The animal house of the Institute of Chemical Technology has a Formulations and Drug delivery system's evaluation for PK, PD and biodistribution. The house also has a Toxicity evaluation as per OECD guidelines. ICT animal house conducts PK- PD evaluation. As per National and International guidelines, the animal house also supports to Pharmaceutical industry and academic institutes globally for PK- PD correlation, metabolic interaction, bio-distribution, and Toxicity studies.
ICT offers internships to the students so that they will gather information about the job market. The Institute of Chemical Technology placement provides placement opportunities to the students. Career guidance will be given to the students so that they will be able to understand their attitude and make better professional choices.
A five-step process is followed by ICT which involves extensive training. Personal Orientation Labs are conducted by the ICT to develop and facilitate a path of self-awareness of the student's aptitudes. Mock interviews, in-company training and Seminars on soft skills are conducted too.
We have lectures from 8.30 AM to 5.30 PM which excludes weekend. Method of teaching varies from professor to professor. Overall experience is great it is balanced with extracurricular and co-curricular as well as academics.
Student societies are very vast and everyone gets a basic exposure to it. We have festivals going on throughout both cultural and technical. Starting from vortex, manzar, sportsaga, yuvam, funtech, etc College life gets pretty hectic with all the academic and Co-curricular activities. We have to find a balance at the end of it all.

Institute of Chemical Technology has hostels which are equipped with mess, TV room, reading room, playground, health center, gymkhana, library and study room facilities. Senior MBBS doctors are available in the health center of the hostel. Institute of Chemical Technology each hostel block is supervised by a Warden, who is a faculty member of the Institute.
ICT facilities provide separate hostels for both boys and girls. A senior dietician is available in the health center of the hostel. Students can get diagnosed once in a week at the designated time for free of cost. All students are covered under the Accident Policy of the Institute with quality Infrastructure Facilities.
