IIT Ropar was established in 2008 in Rupnagar, Punjab. The Indian Institute of Technology Ropar is one of the 8 new IITs set up by the MHRD and the Government of India. The institute's campus covers 525 acres and features Indus Valley Civilization architecture. IIT Ropar Admission

IIT Ropar admission 2025 is ongoing. Candidates are admitted to the institute based on valid entrance exam scores in the accepted entrance exams like JEE Advanced, GATE, IIT JAM, etc. Further, aspirants have to participate in the counselling process or attend the interview process for final selection. The IIT Ropar admission criteria for various courses are given below:

• B.Tech: Candidates must have completed 12th standard with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/ Biology. Selection is based on JEE Advanced exam and JoSAA counselling.
• M.Tech: Candidates must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant stream. For selection, candidates must perform well in the GATE exam and participate in the COAP counselling.
• M.Sc: Applicants need to have completed graduation with at least 55% marks. Valid scores in the IIT JAM exam and participation in JOAPS counselling is required for selection.
• PhD: Aspirants must have a master's degree in a relevant field with 60% marks. Additionally, they must have a valid GATE/ IIT JAM/ UGC-JRF/ NET/ CSIR-JRF/NBHM or equivalent exam score, as per the specialization's specific requirements.
