IIT Bombay MBA 2025: Admission, Eligibility, Fees, Ranking

The IIT Bombay MBA is a two-year program divided into eight terms. It is offered by the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management at IIT Bombay. The Masters of Business Administration course consists of four specializations: Finance, HR, Accounting, and Operations. 

An interdisciplinary dual degree program (IDDDP) in management is also available at SJMSOM, IIT Bombay. IDDDP is an MBA program offering any concentration to fourth-year BTech, BS, and DD students at IIT Bombay. 

Admission to the MBA program at IIT Bombay is through the CAT entrance test. For 2025, the CAT is expected to be held in November 2025 and the CAT 2025 result date is tentatively scheduled for the last week of December 2025 or the first week of January 2026

IIT Bombay MBA Eligibility Criteria

IIT Bombay MBA eligibility criteria include a bachelor's or master's degree in any discipline with a minimum of 60% aggregate (55% aggregate for applicants from SC/ST categories). For students with CGPA/ CPI scores, 6.5 CPI (6 CPI for SC/ST candidates) out of 10 from an accredited university.

Applications are open to students enrolled in their final year of study or those who have finished their course and are awaiting their results. The candidate must have received a minimum of 60% overall (55% overall for candidates from the SC, ST, or PWD categories) or an equivalent grade in the most recent exam for which results are available.

Applicants with CA, CS, CFA, ICWA, or FRM with a first-class bachelor's degree can also apply for the course. The required scores are the same as mentioned above.

The IIT Bombay fees for all specializations remain the same. The exact fee division will be shared with the students during admission. The average tuition fee for an MBA course at SJMSOM IIT Bombay is INR 8 Lakhs. 

IIT Bombay MBA Admission

Admission to the MBA courses at IIT Bombay is through the CAT/GMAT entrance exams. Once the results are declared, students must go through a round of personal interviews. The final merit list is declared after the PI round. The procedure for admission is given below.

The IIT Bombay MBA application process is entirely online. Students must apply through the official website; the steps are as follows:

The application will be considered complete only after the application fees are paid. Students need to download a copy of the application for future use.

Entrance Exams

Admissions to the IIT Bombay MBA course are based on the CAT/GMAT entrance test. The interview round follows the entrance tests. The final selection is based on the student's overall performance.

• Marksheet and certificate of 10th

• Marksheet and certificate of last qualifying exam.
• In case students appear for the last semester, mark­sheet of the previous semester/ consolidated mark­sheet of the qualifying degree.
• Scanned photograph and signature (Not more than 40 KB)
• Result awaited candidates have to upload their latest/ previous semester mark­sheet
• CAT Scores card (Not more than 500KB)
• Caste certificate (if applicable)
• PwD certificate (if applicable)
• Sponsorship certificate (if applicable)
• Statement of purpose
