Before applying for the JESNU 2021 Candidates should check the eligibility for the JESNU exam set by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board. All the details of the eligibility criteria are described below. If a candidate has satisfied all the mentioned criteria then he or she may read the JESNU Syllabus and begin his or her preparation.
JESNU Eligibility Criteria 2021
Candidates must have passed or appeared in the Higher Secondary Examination conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, West Bengal or any equivalent examination. Candidates must pass any of the above mention examinations with at least five recognized subjects, including the English language. Candidates with International 'A' level or International Baccalaureate qualifications, must have at least three subjects at the 'A' level with English in either of the two subjects. the eligibility criteria for candidates appearing for JESNU must have secured a minimum aggregate percentage as per the following table in the 12th standard.

JESNU 2021 Eligibility - Based On Age Limit & Nationality
There is no Upper or Lower age limit in JESNU 2021. Applicants must necessarily be an Indian citizen.
JESNU 2021 Eligibility - Special Provision for Economically Backward Students
Provision of seats for economically backward category students shall be as per the directives and notifications of the Department of Higher Education, Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Govt. of West Bengal. The availability of such seats shall be restricted to the students domiciled in West Bengal only. Candidates claiming such seats much submit the relevant certificate issued from either of the competent authority as enlisted below:
Candidates need to submit the certificate during counselling. If the certificates are found invalid then the candidates will lose the opportunity of admission.
Requirements in terms of Residential/ Domicile Criteria
There are no such particular residential/ domicile requirements to appear in the JESNU 2021 exam. The candidates must download the required perform as per the details are given below and keep the certificate ready to be produced during counselling.
Criteria to be treated as the domicile of West Bengal and applicable proforma of certificate:
Only those candidates will be treated as the domicile of West Bengal who is either,
- a. residing in West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 years as on 31.12.2017.
- b. whose parents are permanents residents of West Bengal having the permanent address within the state of West Bengal.
In the case of a) above, a certificate is to be obtained as proforma 'a1' or proforma 'a2'.
In case of b) above, a certificate is to be obtained as proforma 'b' or the candidates have to produce in original any two of Voter Id/ Aadhaar Card/ Passport/ Ration Card belonging to his/her parents. The said documents would justify that the residential address of parents is in West Bengal.
Proforma 'a1' and 'b' are to be certified by the Government Officials as detailed below and proforma 'a2' is to be certified by the Head of the Institution, where form the candidates have passed or appeared 10+2 level examination.
