  • About: Aligarh Muslim University Law Entrance Examination (AMU BA LLB) 2019 is a University level entrance examination conducted for admission in 5 years integrated BA LLB course.

Important Instructions of AMU BA LLA 2019

  • Registration: Registration needs to be done by the aspiring candidates for admission to the 220 undergraduate seats.

  • HSC: To be eligible for the AMU BA LLB 2019 candidate must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in the class 12th examination.

  • Paper Pattern: Examination timing is 2 hours i.e. 120 Minutes and consisting of 75 Multiple Choice Question (MCQ's) and 10 Short Answer Type (SAT) on topics such as General English, Current Affairs/ General Knowledge (Legal Issues), and Reasoning & Aptitude.

  • Marking: The total marks for the AMU BA LLB 2019 are 100 and Objective questions are 1 mark each with 0.25 negative marks for incorrect response and short answer type is 2.5 each with no negative marking.

  • Number of Seats: A total of 220 seats will be available in the 3 colleges affiliated to the university – 100 in the Aligarh campus, 60 in the Malappuram campus and 60 in the Murshidabad campus.

  • Registration Date: Application Form will be available on the official website of AMU from 1st January 2019 and the last date to submit the Application Form is on 15th February 2019

  • Admit Card: After registered successfully for the AMU BA LLB 2019, the Admit Card will be issued through online for the candidates on 20th April 2019

  • Examination: AMU BA LLB 2019 will be conducted through offline i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PPT) on 20th May 2019

  • Results: Result will be declared on the official website on 10th July 2019.

AMU BA LLB 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 10+2 examination with a minimum of 50% marks from any recognized board of education.

  • Bridge Course: Bridge Course (for Graduates of Deeni Madaris) from AMU with must have a minimum of 50% marks.

  • Age Limit: The candidates should not be more than 22 years as on 01st July on the year of admission. 

  • Eligibility: The candidates must satisfy all the eligibility criteria imposed by the official authorities of the AMU BA LLB 2019 to get the admission in the desired UG programme.

AMU BA LLB 2019 Syllabus

  • Syllabus: AMU BA LLB Syllabus is divided into 2 sections which are described below:
    • Section1: 75 Objective Type Questions (75% Weightage) of 1 mark each. There is a negative marking of 0.25 in case of a wrong response. Marks will be decreased if more than one option is selected (unless specified).

    • Section 2: 10 Short Answer Type (25% Weightage) of 2.5 marks each. The answer should be explained in a short paragraph basis. There is no negative marking in this section.

  • Topics: AMU BA LLB will consist of topics from General English, Current Affairs/ General Knowledge (Legal Issues), and Reasoning & Aptitude.

AMU BA LLB 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Mode: AMU BA LLB will be conducted through offline mode i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PPT).

  • Questions: The question paper will contain a total of 100 Questions - 75 Objective Type Question's (75% Weightage) and 10 Short Answer Type (25% Weightage) for a duration of 2 Hours i.e. 120 Minutes.

  • Sections: The paper contains 2 Sections - Objective Type Questions and Short Answer Type Questions

  • Marks: 

    • Section 1: (+1) for correct answers and (- 0.25) for incorrect response.

    • Section 2: (+2.5) will be given for the correct response and there is no negative marking

  • Medium: The question will be conducted in English medium.

AMU BA LLB 2019 Application Form

  • Registration Mode: The Application Form can be filled through both online.

  • Registration Date: Application Form will be available on the official website of AMU from 1st January 2019 and the last date to submit the Application Form is on 15th February 2019

  • Issue Date: AMU BA LLB 2019 Admit Card will be available on the official website from 20th April 2019.

  • Details: Candidates need to check the following details carefully on the Admit Card: Name, Roll Number, Exam Venue

  • Future Reference: The Admit Card will be needed on all process of admission and the candidate has to keep it safe till the entire admission process is over.

  • Result Date: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) will be declaring the entrance exam results by 10th July 2019 in the online mode only through Aligarh Muslim University (AMU)’s official website.

  • Answer Key: AMU BA LLB 2019 Answer Key will be available to be downloaded from the official website of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) within two weeks from the date of the entrance examination.

AMU BA LLB 2019 Preparation Tips

  • Here are some tips for candidates aspiring to make a career in law.

  • Generally, all competitive exams constitute 25 per cent of general knowledge questions and current affairs. Current affairs knowledge can be more beneficial rather than static GK.

  • While preparing for this exam the students should focus on the important current topics. Subjects related to trade, finance, international economics and anything as recent as the past six months. 

  • Students must practice basic mathematics or Elementary mathematics. This includes mathematics of class 8th to 10th. While preparing, topics such as Profit and Loss, Percentage, Number system, Average, Algebra, AP and GP should be focused upon for the examination.

  • A student aspiring for law entrance exams needs to practice his logical reasoning as well as Legal Reasoning. Here topics such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies, etc. are covered. Logical reasoning tests the candidate’s ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. 

  • Along with Legal Reasoning, Candidates should be updated with legal news and should know at least the most common of the legal general knowledge. It can be a legislative development in Parliament or a landmark judgment from the Supreme Court or High Courts. All of this would be important for the exam.

  • English is an important part of the examination paper. Candidate must learn the basics of Grammar, should master vocabulary and must start solving reading comprehensions.

  • The candidate should appear for mock tests on a regular basis, as this will show him his improvement and where he needs to put extra efforts.

candidate age should not be more than 22 years on an after 1st July 2018 for AMU BA LLB exam.
