WBJEE JELET Counselling 2020: Dates, Registration, Seat Allotment, Reservation

  • December 14, 2020: The counselling registrations for JELET 2020 are being accepted from today. Candidates can register until December 20, 2020. The counselling process will be conducted based on a merit list generated using the candidates' scores from their latest qualifying examination.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) will conduct the JELET Counselling 2020 for the test-takers who have cleared the JELET 2020 Exam and for the rank holders whose names are shortlisted in the merit list.

  • Counselling: Candidates who get shortlisted based on the qualifying exam scores will be called for the JELET 2020 Counselling process 2020 which will be held after the announcement of the merit list.
  • Shortlisted: Candidates who have been shortlisted based on the merit list will be called for further JELET Counselling process 2020 which will be conducted in the specified College/ Institute on the specified date.
  • Counselling Procedure: The counselling procedure will consist of Verification of Entrance Exam Score/Rank, Seat Allotment and Document Verification. The counselling process will be done in offline mode.
  • Appear: All the candidates must appear him/ herself on the day of counselling, no other person is allowed to appear on behalf of the concerned person.
  • Required Documents: A candidate who is Selected or Wait-Listed, must bring with the Admit Card, Required Photographs, Requisite Fee, and the original and Self-attested photocopies of all those marks sheets/ certificates which are required to be attached along with the Admission Application Form.


  • Admission shall not be given to the candidates in the absence of any of these required documents.
  • JELET Counselling 2020 will not be rescheduled for the applicants who fail to attend the counselling process on the respected date.

JELET Counselling Process 2020

The JELET Counselling 2020 will consist of two rounds which are Seat Allotment and Document Verification.

Seat Allotment

The seat allotment process will depend on candidates rank and seat availability.

  • Candidates Rank: Candidates rank will be calculated based on the marks obtained in JELET by the university authority. The rank list will be published on the official website after a few days of the declaration of results.
  • Seat Availability: While the time of counselling the authority will decide to give admission to the candidates based on the number of seats available in the university. If the seats of the selected course are less the authority will decide the seats to give to the candidates based on the top ranks secured.

Documents Verification

Candidates have to submit the below-listed documents at the time of counselling:

  • JELET Rank Card 2020 and JELET Admit Card 2020.
  • Statements of Marks and Provisional/ Degree Certificate of the qualifying examination.
  • Transfer and Conduct Certificates.
  • Class X and XII Marksheets and Certificates.
  • Domicile Certificate.
  • 6 passport-size photographs.
  • Identity Proof (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport, PAN Card, etc.).
  • Category Certificate (if applicable).
  • Migration Certificate (if applicable).

Diploma Holders(including Pharmacy):

  • Semester wise/part-wise/year-wise mark sheets of Diploma in Engineering/Tech/Pharmacy.
  • Mark-sheet of HS or equivalent examination(for admission to Jadavpur University)
  • Original/downloaded admit card, certificate of Madhyamik or equivalent examination or Birth certificate from the competent authority for verification of age.

B.Sc degree Holders:

  • Original mark sheet of BSc examination along with Photocopy
  • Original mark sheet of HS or equivalent examination(10+2)
  • Original/downloaded admit card, certificate of Madhyamik or equivalent examination or Birth certificate from the competent authority for verification of age.

Seat Matrix of JELET

The total number of seats available in various categories will be declared by the office of the Director of the Technical Education. It will be published on the official website.

Reservation of Seats in JELET

In respect to the reservation of seats provided to the SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD, applicable Acts and the Rules of the Government of West Bengal/ of the concerned University prevailing at the time of admission will be followed. Only the candidates that are domiciled in the area of West Bengal can avail this reservation. List of such reserved seats will be announced by the concerned counselling authority before the counselling period.

Important Points to know for JELET Counselling 2020

Some of the important points to take a note off regarding the counselling process of JELET:

  • WBJEEB does not verify the information provided by the candidate during the online application. Admit cards are issued only on the basis of the information provided by the candidate.
  • All applicants who appear to be prima facie eligible will be issued admit cards and will be provisionally permitted to sit for the examination.
  • All of the verifications are to be done during the counselling, admission, registration with the university etc.
  • If at any stage after examination it is to be found on scrutiny that the applicant is otherwise ineligible, his/her candidature shall be treated as cancelled even if they are appeared in for the exam and secured a merit rank.
