What is JELET?

Full form of JELET is Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry. JELET is a State Level Entrance Examination conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEEB) for admission into Pharmacy/ Engineering/ Technology through Lateral Entry Scheme (2nd Year).

West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) is responsible for managing various Entrance Examination and subsequent Admission Procedure in West Bengal.

JELET is a State Level Entrance Examination Conducted every year. JELET 2021 will be conducted offline i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PBT). Finally, the admission will be given based on the rank secured in the JELET exam 2021 through Counselling and Seat Allotment Process. JELET 2021 Eligibility

WBJEE JELET 2021 is conducted for admission into Engineering and Pharmacy colleges. Thus, JELET 2021 Eligibility Criteria for both the exam varies on the basis of educational ground. Rest all eligibility conditions are the same for the aspirants seeking admission into each course. The eligibility conditions for JELET are:

Educational Qualification

  • Pharmacy: The candidates must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD) from an AICTE approved Institution.
  • Engineering/ Technology: The candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering/ Technology with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/PwD) from an AICTE approved Institution.

Nationality

The candidate must be a resident citizen of India.

Age Limit

Generally, there is No Upper Age Limit for the exam. But for B.Sc. candidates, the Upper Age Limit is 27 years as on 31/12/2021. Similarly, for Diploma in Marine Engineering candidates, the Upper Age Limit is 25 years as on 31/12/2021.

Academic Qualification

Aspirants with B.Sc and BE Degree who are looking for admission in Engineering or Technology course must have passed class XII with mathematics as a subject and also B.Sc or BE with a minimum of 45% marks from UGC recognized university.

Aspirants holding a diploma in Technology, Engineering, or Pharmacy and want to apply for degree course through JELET 2021 Exam must have scored 45% marks from any Polytechnic Institute or Pharmacy College/Institute recognized by AICTE.

JELET Eligibility Criteria for Jadavpur University

The minimum marks required by the candidates is 60% for Jadavpur University. Also, B.Sc candidates are not allowed to appear for Jadavpur University.

JELET 2021 Syllabus

The syllabus will be different for various courses such as Diploma in Engineering/ Technology/ Printing/ Agriculture/ Pharmacy and B.Sc Degree. The JELET 2021 Syllabus will be based on subjects from diploma and class 11th and 12th standard.

Topics: The JELET question paper will comprise of the following topics: Engineering Mathematics, Computer Application, Electrical Technology, Environmental Engineering, Strength of Materials, Engineering Mechanics, Soil and Water, Farm Machinery and Power, Food processes and Food Harvest Engineering, Basic Printing Engineering, Printers’ Material Science, Mathematics, and Pharmacy.

JELET 2021 Registration

The JELET application process is the same for both the courses. The Candidate has to take the following steps while applying for JELET 2021 Exam:

Step 1: Registration: You have to register with your documented name, mobile number, and e-mail ID for the creation of a new account to fill the Application Form. The login credentials will be sent to the registered Mobile Number and Email Id. Use the credentials to login.

Step 2: Filling the Application Form: Fill the Application Form with details such as Personal, Academic, and Contact details as per the government proof.

Step 3: Uploading of Images: Candidates have to upload the scanned images of their photograph, signature and left thumb impression. The photograph should have a clear background and focus on face.

Step 4: Payment of Registration Fee: Use Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card to pay the fee, and make sure that you keep the receipt. In case of offline payment, note the receipt number/challan number.

Step 5: Confirmation Page: Once the candidate submits the Application Form a confirmation page with all the details filled on the Application will appear where candidates need to check once again and submit the Application Form.

Registration Fee: All the candidates have to pay a registration fee of INR 500 which can be paid online (Credit Card/ Debit Card/Net Banking) and offline (E-challan in Allahabad Bank).

JELET 2021 Exam Pattern

JELET 2021 will be conducted offline i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PBT). The question paper will contain Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). The question paper comprises of 100 questions with a total of 100 marks. One mark will be awarded for every correct answer and 0.25 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer.

The time given to complete the examination will be 2 hours i.e. 120 minutes and the question paper will be in English. All questions have only one correct answer, more than one answer will be considered as an incorrect answer and -1/4 marks will be deducted for it. It is mandatory to attempt all the questions and no marks will be awarded for unanswered questions.

JELET 2021 Admit Card

The JELET 2021 Admit Card will be released by the WBJEE Board online for all the aspirants on their official website. Applicants can download the admit card by using login credentials. The Admit Card will contain details of the applicant i.e, name, date of birth, parents name, exam centre, registration number, etc. The candidate will not be allowed to appear at the exam centre other than the allotted centre for him/her/x in their Admit Card.

Documents required at the Exam Centre

Candidates must carry valid Photo ID Proof along with the JELET 2021 Admit Card to the Exam Centre without fail. Candidates without the Admit Card will not be allowed to write JELET 2021 Exam.

West Bengal Joint Entrance Exam Board (WBJEEB) will declare JELET 2021 Results on their official website i.e, www.wbjeeb.in a few weeks after the date of examination. JELET 2021 Results will be released in the form of rank card which contains applicant's rank and score.

Tie-Breaking

The tie-breaking policy followed by the conducting authority when two or more candidates secure the same score is mentioned below.

  • Candidate with less number of wrong answers will be considered.
  • If the tie remains, then the candidates with less number of wrong answers in the Engineering Mechanics and Strength of Materials together will be considered.
  • Candidate with less number of wrong answers in Engineering Mathematics, Electrical Technology, Environmental Engineering, and Computer Application taken together will be considered.
  • If the tie still exists, then the candidate with more number of right answers in Engineering Mathematics, Electrical Technology, Environmental Engineering, and Computer Application taken together will be considered.

JELET 2021 Selection Procedure

The candidates who cleared the written exam cutoff will be called for counseling. In counseling, the documents will be verified and fee payment will be done. After the payment of fees, the allotment of seats will happen. The candidates are required to avail the seat allotment by submitting the fee of admission.

JELET 2021 Counselling

Candidates who have cleared the JELET 2021 are usually called for the JELET 2021 Counselling which will take place after the results are declared. A separate notification regarding the counseling will be published on the official website regarding the counseling. The candidates must be present by him/ herself on the day of counseling, no other person is allowed to appear on behalf of the concerned person. The JELET 2021Counselling process can be extended to two rounds only and only if the seats remain vacant at the colleges. Candidates will have to submit the admission fee and fee of the current semester to avail of the admission within due time. If the candidate fails to do so, his or her admission will get canceled. Also, the candidate will require to go under Document Verification for which you must be prepared.  

Document Verification: The candidates are requested to carry the documents which are necessary for the counseling, which will be verified, and then only will be allowed to attend the counseling process. Candidates have to submit the below-listed documents at the time of counseling:

WBJEE JELET Guidelines

Do follow the below instructions for the JELET Exam day. These would be helpful to you.

ID Proof: Candidates will have to produce an original ID proof with JELET 2021 Admit card for verification (For example, employee ID, driving license, passport, pan card, voter ID, Aadhar Card, or valid college ID).

Mandatory Documents: Candidates appearing for JELET 2021 examination must carry the JELET 2021 Admit Card and original valid photo-identity proof to the exam center.

Legitimate Photograph & Signature: Candidates are advised to take a clearly legible, preferably color printout of the admit card on an A4 size paper. The Admit card is valid only if the candidate's photograph and signature images are legitimate and are according to the instructions.

Candidates shouldn't be late: No candidate will be allowed to enter the JELET 2021 examination hall 30 minutes after the commencement of the exam.

Verification of Details: Candidates will be permitted to appear for the examination only after their JELET 2021 credentials are verified by the center officials.
