Introduction to JELET 2019

  • About JELET: Joint Entrance Examination for Lateral Entry (JELET) is a State Level Entrance Examination conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination Board (WBJEE) for admission into Pharmacy/ Engineering/ Technology through Lateral Entry Scheme (2nd Year).

  • About WBJEE: West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) is responsible for managing various Entrance Examination and subsequent Admission Procedure.

  • Conducting Body: Every year JELET will be conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB)

  • Level: JELET is a State Level Entrance Examination Conducted every year.

  • Mode and Date: JELET 2019 will be conducted offline i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PBT) on 11th June 2019 to make sure there is no clash with the degree exam date.

  • Admission: The admission will be based on the rank secured in the JELET exam 2019 through Counselling and Seat Allotment process.

JELET 2019 Important Dates

  • Registration: Application Form will be made available on the official website WBJEE JELET 2019 from 14th March 2019 and the last date to submit the duly filled Application Form is on 4th April 2019.

  • Admit Card: The Admit Card will be released by the WBJEE Board online for all the aspirants from 1st June 2019.

  • Examination: JELET 2019 will be conducted in offline mode i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PBT) from 11th June 2019.

  • Results: Results will be declared on the official website for all category candidates based on qualified marks on 30th June 2019.

  • Counselling: Candidates who have cleared the JELET 2019 will be called for the counselling process which will be held on 7th July 2019.

JELET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

  • Education: 

    • Pharmacy: The candidates must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ PwD) from an AICTE approved Institution.

    • Engineering/ Technology: The candidates must have passed Diploma in Engineering/ Technology with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for SC/ ST/ OBC-A/ OBC-B/ PwD) from an AICTE approved Institution.

  • Nationality: The candidate must be a resident citizen of India.

  • Age Limit: 

    • There is No Upper Age Limit for Diploma Holders in Engineering/ Technology/ Pharmacy.

    • For B.Sc candidates, the Upper Age Limit is 27 years as on 31/12/2019.

    • For Diploma in Marine Engineering candidates, the Upper Age Limit is 25 years as on 31/12/2019.

JELET 2019 Application Form

  • Registration: Application Form will be available on the official website i.e. www.wbjeeb.in from 14th March 2019 and the last date to submit the Application Form is on 4th April 2019.

  • Registration Fee: All the candidates have to pay a registration fee of INR 500/- which can be paid online (Credit Card/ Debit Card/Net Banking) and offline (E-challan in Allahabad Bank).

JELET 2019 Exam Centre

  • Exam Centre: JELET 2019 will be conducted in 13 cities in the state of West Bengal.

  • Id Proof: Candidates must carry a valid id proof along with the Admit Card to the Exam Centre without fail. Candidates without the Admit Card will not be allowed to write JELET 2019.

  • Choice of Centre: The candidates may choose up to 2 Exam Centre as there choice of location for JELET 2019.

  • Present: Candidates must make sure that they should be present 1 hour before the prescribed timing for the verification process, latecomers are not allowed to appear for the exam at any circumstance.

  • Note: No request for change of allocated centre will be entertained under normal circumstance. Any examination zone will be dropped if the adequate number of candidates is not available.

JELET 2019 Admit Card

  • Admit Card: The Admit Card will be released by the WBJEE Board online for all the aspirants from 1st June 2019.

  • Other Centres: Candidate will not be allowed to appear at the exam center, other than the allotted centre for him/her in their Admit Card.

  • Id Proof: Candidate must carry anyone government id proof such as Voter Id, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Driving License, Passport along with the Admit Card.

  • Discrepancy: In case of any discrepancy in the particulars of the candidate or his/her photograph and signatures shown in the Admit Card and Confirmation Page, the candidate may immediately approach the concerned authority.

  • Note: The candidates are advised to read the instructions on the admit card carefully and follow them during the conduct of the examination.

JELET 2019 Exam Pattern

  • Mode: JELET 2019 will be conducted offline i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PBT) on 11th June 2019.

  • Question Type: The question paper will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs).

  • Topics: The JELET question paper will comprise of the following topics: Engineering Mathematics, Computer Application, Electrical Technology, Environmental Engineering, Strength of Materials, Engineering Mechanics, Soil and Water, Farm Machinery and Power, Food processes and Food Harvest Engineering, Basic Printing Engineering, Printers’ Material Science, Mathematics, and Pharmacy.

  • Duration: The time given to complete the examination will be 2 hours i.e. 120 minutes.

  • Total Questions & Marks: The question paper comprise of 100 questions with a total of 100 marks.

  • Marking Scheme: One marks will be awarded for every correct answerwilland 0.25 mark will be reduced for incorrect answers.

  • Medium: The question paper will be in English.

JELET 2019 Results

  • Results: Results will be declared on the official website for all category candidates based on qualified marks on 30th June 2019.

  • Scorecard: The final results will be published in the form of scorecard which contains all the details about the ranks and total score.

  • Rank: The rank will be given for the candidates who appeared in the JELET 2019.

  • Note: The candidates with rank and cut-off doesn't mean that they are eligible for counselling the final decision will be made by the conducting authority.

JELET 2019 Counselling

  • Counselling: Candidates who have cleared the JELET 2019 will be called for the counselling process which will be held on 7th July 2019.

  • Notification: A separate notification regarding the counselling will be published on the official website regarding the counselling.

  • Appear: The candidates must be present by him/ herself on the day of counselling, no other person is allowed to appear on behalf of the concerned person.

  • Verification: The candidates are requested to carry the documents which are necessary for the counselling, which will be verified and then only will be allowed to attend the counselling process.

Eligibility is the 12th pass for regular B.Tech students and diploma pass for the lateral entry student. I have given JELET Exam. WBJEE and AIEEE exams can also be given as entrance. Cut off basically depends on the ranks.

  • The eligibility criteria for my course was to pass JELET Exam because I was a diploma student had an opportunity to get admitted in 2nd year directly through getting over JELET exam.
  • There is no such cutoff for JELET Exam at Surendra Institute of Engineering & Management.
