Post-Matric Odisha Scholarships
The Department of Backward Classes Welfare provides post-matric scholarships to the SC/ ST/ OBC/ SEBC and EBC categories. The students pursuing any courses under the groups I, II, III and IV at a government recognised institution could apply to the post-matric Odisha scholarships. They should ensure the annual family income does not exceed INR 2,50,000 for the SC category and INR 1,00,000 for ST, OBC, SEBC and EBC categories. Additionally, the candidates should fulfil other Odisha scholarship eligibility criteria to be eligible for the post-matric schemes. The selected scholars will receive up to INR 1,200 per month.

Kalia Scholarships
The Kalia Odisha scholarships are available to the SC/ ST/ OBC/ EBC/ SEBC and general categories. Candidates aspiring to pursue a technical or professional course in Odisha can benefit from this scheme. Interested applicants should have secured admission to a government college through merit. The selected students will receive variable monetary benefits from the state government.

Medhabruti Scholarships
The Department of Higher Education in Odisha provides medhabruti scholarships. This Odisha student scholarship scheme is available to all categories. However, they should be domiciled in Odisha with a family income not exceeding INR 6,00,000 per annum. In addition, they should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in the previous qualifying examination. The providers have categorised the medhabruti scholarships according to courses and class levels. They are:
- Junior merit medhabruti scholarship
- Senior merit medhabruti scholarship
- Postgraduate merit medhabruti scholarship
- Medhabruti merit scholarship for technical and professional course
For Junior Merit Medhabruti Scholarship
The candidates who have cleared the HSE board exam can apply to this Odisha student scholarship scheme. Those selected under this programme will receive INR 3,000 per annum for two years.
For Senior Merit Medhabruti Scholarship
The senior merit medhabruti state scheme is available to students pursuing general undergraduate courses of three years duration at any recognised college, institution or university. The department will reward INR 5,000 per annum for three years to the selected students.
For Postgraduate Merit Medhabruti Scholarship
Candidates in the first year of the postgraduate degree can apply to this Odisha student scholarship scheme. However, they should be studying at a recognised institution. If selected, the scholars will receive INR 10,000 per annum for two years.
For Merit Medhabruti Scholarship - Technical and Professional Course
Similar to the previous medhabruti Odisha scholarships, the candidates should be pursuing a technical or professional degree recognised by the AICTE, MCI, DCI, etc., to be eligible for this scheme. Even those pursuing integrated technical or professional courses can also apply. The government will disburse INR 10,000 per annum for the duration of the course.

Odisha Scholarships for Minorities
The candidates domiciled in Odisha and belonging to the minority communities such as Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Jains, Sikhs, and Parsis can apply to the Odisha scholarship for minorities. It is funded by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA). The programme is available to students from class I to the PhD level. Additionally, those pursuing a professional or technical course can enjoy the benefits of the merit cum means scholarship for professional and technical courses.
The candidates between class I and X can apply to the pre-matric scholarship for minority students. At the same time, those from class XI and above can apply for the post-matric scheme for minority students. The selected students will receive up to INR 20,000 as financial aid from the government. Interested candidates can apply for the MOMA scholarship schemes on the NSP portal.

Vidyadhan Scholarship Programme
The Vidyadhan Odisha scholarship, funded by Sarojini Damodaran Foundation, is available to students who have passed the class X exam with at least 80% marks or 8 CGPA. However, the providers have reduced the cut-off marks to 60% for disabled students. The objective is to support young students pursuing classes XI and XII at recognised institutions. The selected candidates will receive an Odisha scholarship amount of INR 6,000 for their higher secondary education.

Vyasa Kabi Fakir Mohan Senapati Scholarship
The Vyasa Kabi Fakir Mohan Senapati scholarship is available to students with excellent knowledge in Odia. The objective of the programme is to promote the Odia language in the community. Therefore, the class XII students who have secured a minimum of 90% marks in the Odia paper or BA (Arts) students majoring in Odia with at least 80% marks can apply to this Odisha scholarship 2023 programme. The applicants studying at academic institutions, autonomous colleges or state-recognised universities are eligible for the scheme. If selected, the students will receive INR 20,000 as a lump sum payment.

Prof Ghanshyam Dash Scholarship for Higher Education
The Bansidhar & Ila Panda Foundation (BIPF) has launched the Prof Ghanshyam Dash Odisha scholarship for underprivileged students pursuing a bachelor's degree in liberal arts, engineering or medicine. They should have enrolled in an institution recognised by the UGC. The annual family income of the students should not exceed INR 2,00,000 to be eligible for the programme. The foundation will either disburse an Odisha scholarship amount of INR 1,00,000 per annum or cover 90% of their educational expenses (whichever is less) for the course duration.

Central Sector Odisha Scholarship Scheme
The council of higher education under the government of India provides the central sector Odisha scholarship scheme for students from all categories. The candidates who have cleared the Higher Secondary Education (HSE) as regular students and pursuing higher studies are eligible for the scheme. The government will disburse different amounts every year according to the class levels. Listed below are the Odisha scholarship amount under the central sector scheme:
- Undergraduate degree - INR 10,000
- Postgraduate degree - INR 20,000
- Professional or integrated courses (in fourth and fifth year) - INR 20,000

Odisha Scholarships for Disabled Students
The Social Security and Empowerment Person with Disabilities provides pre-matric and post-matric scholarship programmes for students with a minimum of 40% disability. It is a state-funded scheme available to the domiciles of Odisha. The applicants from five years or above with an annual family income of not more than INR 2,40,000 can apply to the Odisha scholarship programme for disabled students. Those at the pre-matric level will receive up to INR 600 per month and other benefits such as maintenance allowance, refund of fees, etc.

Financial Assistance to Sportspersons
The financial assistance to sportspersons is a skill development programme initiated by the state government of Odisha. Candidates aspiring to become sports coaches can benefit from this scheme. Those selected will receive financial aid from the government for coaching courses at the Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSNIS) in Patiala. Additionally, the government will offer travelling and other expenses for the benefit of the students.

Students applying for the first time should register themselves by clicking on the apply scholarship button on the homepage. Next, they should agree to the terms and conditions before filling in the registration form. Upon registration, the applicants will receive the Odisha scholarship login credentials. They should sign into the portal, fill in the application form and submit it within the deadline. Higher Education Department Portal
Candidates who want to apply for the Medhabruti Odisha scholarship 2023 and the Vyasa Kabi Fakir Mohan Senapati scheme can submit their applications on the higher education department portal. On the website, they should select a relevant scheme and fill in the application form. Next, the candidates should print out two copies of the completed Odisha scholarship application forms. They should save one copy for their reference and submit the other to the head of the institution. Further, the head of the institution will send the Medhabruti Odisha scholarship application form to the Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha.
National Scholarship Portal (NSP)
The minorities can apply for the pre-matric and post-matric Odisha scholarships online through the NSP portal. It is funded and managed by the Ministry of Minority Affairs (MOMA) under the government of India. Additionally, those who want to apply for the central sector scheme can also apply through the NSP portal.

Odisha Scholarships for Disabled Students
The disabled students can apply online for the pre-matric and post-matric schemes. The Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities will invite applications by announcing them in leading newspapers. The candidates can fill in the scholarship form and submit it within the last date. Additionally, they should submit a printout of the Odisha scholarship application form at their respective educational institution. After receiving the application forms, the head of the institution will verify them and forward them to the concerned education department.
Netaji Subhas National Institute of Sports (NSIS) Portal
Aspiring students who want to apply for financial assistance to sportspersons can submit their applications online or offline. They should visit the official NSNIS portal and select the desired mode of application.
For Offline Application
The applicants should download the application form by clicking on the offline button. They should duly fill in the scholarship form, attach two photographs, DD of INR 500 and other relevant documents. Lastly, they should submit them to the respective SAI centres.
For Online Application
The candidates should click on the online button, fill in the application form and submit it. Next, they should print out the completed application form, attach it with the required documents (including a DD of INR 500) and send it to the respective SAI centre.
Vidyadhan Scholarship Portal
Eligible candidates can apply for the Vidyadhan scholarship online through the official website. They should commence the application process by filling in the registration form and clicking on the activation link. Next, they should log into the portal, fill in the scholarship form and upload the required documents. The candidates are advised to take a copy of the confirmation page for further use.
Prof Ghanshyam Dash Scholarship for Higher Education
The application process for the Prof Ghanshyam Dash Odisha scholarship is offline. Interested students can obtain the application form on the official IMFA portal. They should submit the forms and the required documents to the organisers by October 30th (tentative) of every year to the below address:
