In association with Canara Bank, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has launched the Canara Bank scholarship. They've additionally created the Canara Bank scholarship portal students corner for postgraduates students to track the disbursement of scholarships and grants. The Canara Bank scholarship student portal is integrated with the Public Financial Management System (PFMS). The providers disburse the scholarship amount through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. The Canara scholarship amount is disbursed as per the UGC's regulations. 

There are various schemes provided under the Canara Bank scholarship for students. All the important details are tabulated below as per the schemes. The candidates are advised to go through every Canara Bank scholarship scheme properly before applying. The last date to apply for the Indira Gandhi single girl scheme under the Canara scholarship is December 31st, 2022.

The candidates can apply for their desired schemes on the Canara Bank UGC scholarship portal. Those applying for the first time should complete the registration process. Canara Bank Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

There are several schemes available under the UGC Canara Bank scholarship 2022, which are available to the citizens of India. Additionally, there are Canara scholarship schemes, particularly for the postgraduate degree holders who want to pursue research as a career. Tabulated below are the Canara scholarship eligibility criteria:

Canara Bank Scholarship Scheme Eligibility Criteria

Dr S Radhakrishnan Postdoctoral Fellowship in Humanities & Social Science

  • The candidate should be into full-time research and unemployed.
  • They should be less than 35 years of age with a relaxation of 5 years for Reserved category such as SC/ ST/ OBC/ Women/ PWD (Persons with Disabilities).
  • The applicant should have scored a minimum of 55% marks for UG level and 60% for PG level, with the relaxation of 5% marks for the reserved category.

National Fellowship for students of Other Backward Classes (OBC)

  • The candidate should be a postgraduate belonging to the OBC and unemployed.
  • The annual family income of the applicant should not exceed INR 6 lakhs per annum.
  • The candidate should be registered for M.Phil and PhD degrees (full-time) in Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences and Engineering & Technology.

Kothari Fellowship

  • Candidate should be unemployed and must be less than 35 years of age (up to 3, 5 and 10 years relaxation given to OBC, SC/ ST/ Women and physically handicapped respectively).
  • Applicant should be a PhD degree holder under the science faculty, preferably with published research work to their credit.

NET-JRF Fellowship

  • Candidate should be 30 years or younger (relaxation of and 5 years given to OBC and SC/ ST/ PWD/ Female candidates, respectively.
  • Applicant must hold a master's degree or equivalent with at least 55% marks (5% marks relaxation given to reserved candidates) to apply for this Canara Bank JRF scholarship.

Indira Gandhi Scholarship Scheme for Single Girl Child

  • The applicant must be a single girl child with no siblings.
  • She should not be more than 30 years of age.
  • The candidate should be enrolled in the 1st year of a master's course from any recognized university or postgraduate college.

Maulana Azad National Fellowship-Minority

  • Candidate should belong to a minority community such as Muslim, Parsi, Sikh, Buddhist, Jain, and Christian.
  • They should be registered for a full-time PhD/ MPhil with a minimum score of 55% in the postgraduation level.
  • The candidate should have cleared the CBSE/ NTA-UGC-NET/ CSIR-NET examination.

Rajiv Gandhi National Fellowship for SC

  • The applicant should be a postgraduate belonging to the SC/ ST.
  • They should get registered for MPhil/Ph.D. in less than two years from the date of receipt of the award letter.

Ishan Uday Scholarship Canara Bank-for North Eastern Region

  • The candidate should belong to the North East Region(NER).
  • They should have passed the Class 12 or equivalent exam from a recognized board within the NER.
  • The applicant should be a 1st-year student in any UG course from any recognized College/ University.
  • The family income of the candidate should not exceed INR 4.5 lakh per annum.

Swami Vivekananda Single Girl Child Scholarship for Research in Social Sciences

  • The applicant must be a single girl child with no siblings.
  • Should be registered for a full-time PhD in social sciences from any recognized University/ College.
  • The candidate should be 40 years old or younger with a relaxation of 5 years given to candidates of reserved categories such as SC/ ST/ OBC and PWD.

Emeritus Fellowship

  • Applicant should be an experienced and highly qualified superannuated teacher in a recognized university/ institution.
  • They should have published high-quality research work in their service career.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship to Women Candidates

  • Women candidates who hold a PhD degree and are unemployed can apply.
  • She should be not more than 55 years of age (relaxation of 5 years is given to reserved categories such as SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD)
  • Candidates under the General category should have scored a minimum of 55% marks at UG level and 60% at PG level.
  • Candidates under the reserved category such as SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD should have scored a minimum of 50% marks at UG level and 55% at PG level.

PG Scholarship for University Rank holders

  • Candidate should be 1st/ 2nd rank holder at UG level with a minimum 60% score.
  • They should be enrolled in a full-time master's degree from a recognized university/ institution.
  • The applicant should be less than 30 years old.

Post-Doctoral Fellowship for SC & ST

  • Unemployed PhD candidates with published research work.
  • The age limit for male candidates is 50 years, and for female candidates, it is 55 years.
  • SC/ ST candidates with a 50% score at the UG level and a 55% score at the PG level can apply.

PG Scholarship for Professional courses for SC/ ST

  • Applicants who are pursuing 1st year of PG course from any recognized College/ University.
  • They should belong to SC/ ST.

BSR Fellowships in Sciences

  • Applicant must belong to Departments of Sciences, Bio-Sciences, Agricultural Sciences, Engineering Sciences of eligible universities.
  • Meritorious students interested in advanced studies and research leading to a PhD degree in the field of Science can apply for the scholarship.

UGC-BSR Faculty Fellowship Scheme

  • Applicants should have at least 15 research articles published in reputed journals.
  • Applicant should have successfully supervised the PhD dissertation of 15 (in Basic Sciences) and 10 (in Engineering and Technology) full-time candidates, 5 of who received their degree in the past ten years.
  • Candidates should have handled at least three types of research projects in the last ten years

PG Scholarship for M.E./ M.Tech./ M.Pharma to GATE/ GPAT qualified candidates

  • The candidate should have a valid GATE/ GPAT score.
  • Applicants should be admitted to AICTE approved courses like ME/ M.Pharm/ M.Tech in any AICTE approved institution.
