AP ECET stands for Andhra Pradesh Engineering Common Entrance Test. The AP ECET is the most popular Engineering Common Entrance Exam proposed by Human Resource Development in February 2010 that is conducted in the state of Andhra Pradesh. AP ECET 2021 was conducted for candidates to get admission into various B.Tech, B.E, and B.Pharma programs via lateral entry mode i.e. direct admission to the second year on Sep 19, 2021.

What is AP ECET Exam?

AP ECET is a common entrance exam for the diploma holders to get admission into professional courses like Engineering, Pharmacy, and M.sc. The candidates who have completed their diploma and qualified in the Andhra Pradesh Engineering Entrance Exam can get direct admission into 2nd year B.E or B.Tech courses.

This exam is conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Anantapur, on behalf of APSCHE. The candidates who get admission into the Engineering and Pharmacy courses through the AP ECET 2021 exam are admitted as lateral entries.

AP ECET 2021 Eligibility

The AP ECET 2021 eligibility criteria will be laid down by the exam conducting authorities. Candidates are required to meet the eligibility criteria prior to applying for the exam. Eligibility criteria for candidates who are aspiring to apply for AP ECET 2021 are discussed below. AP ECET 2021 eligibility criteria shall vary for different courses. The candidates must satisfy the following eligibility criteria to be able to apply. Otherwise, the officials will not consider the application.

The eligibility criteria that the candidates must fulfill have been listed below. 

Nationality and Domicile

A candidate who has to apply for the AP ECET exam must be of Indian nationality. Candidates must belong to the state of Andhra Pradesh and satisfy both the local or as well as the non-local status requirements. A candidate is considered local if:

  • The candidate has studied in the state for four years of continuous academic qualification or candidate has studied for seven years or the candidate has been residing in the state of Andhra Pradesh for four years.

A non-local candidate will be eligible to get admission in the 15% reserved seats. Non-local candidates are those who have resided for 10 years, periods of study outside the state or the candidates whose parents have resided in the state for ten years excluding employment outside the state or candidates parents are employed in the State or Central Government, Public Sector Corporations, Local Bodies, Universities, and any other public institution within the states.

Academic Qualifications

The candidates appearing for AP ECET 2021 Exam are required to have a diploma in the following courses for admission to B.E/B. Tech and B.pharma.

  • B.E/ B.Tech: For admission in B.E/B. Tech, candidates should have obtained a diploma in Engineering and Technology or any other equivalent diploma from any AICTE approved and Government of Andhra Pradesh Pradesh recognized institution or a 3-year B.Sc degree with mathematics as one of the subjects from a recognized university.
  • B.Pharma: For admission in B.Pharma, candidates should have obtained a diploma in Pharmacy or any other diploma from any AICTE approved and Government of Andhra Pradesh recognized institutions as an equivalent for admission in B.Pharma. B.Sc degree holders are not eligible for admission in B.Pharma.

Note: Candidates who are pursuing a diploma course are eligible to apply for the test they should have completed and passed all the exams of the diploma before the time of admission to the college. Candidates belonging to the unreserved category should have passed the relevant diploma with at least 45% marks. Whereas for the reserved category candidates the minimum required marks are 40%. 

Lateral admission into B.E./B.Tech/B.Pharma

  • Admission to 85% of the seats in each course will be reserved for local candidates and the remaining 15% will be kept unreserved.
  • Admission to B.Sc (Mathematics) degree holders will be given only after completing all the qualified diploma holders.

AP ECET Age Limit

The candidate should possess the following age to apply for Andhra Pradesh ECET 2021.

  • Minimum age: 18 years
  • Maximum age: 22 years of age for general category and 25 years of age for reserved category.

AP ECET 2021 Application Fee

The application fee is INR 550 for all the candidates to apply for AP ECET 2021. Along with the application fee candidates have to pay processing fee. 

  • The payment can be made by Net Banking/ Credit/ Debit mode.
  • Candidates can also pay the registration form fee by cash at any one of the AP ONLINE/ ONLINE centres.
  • An extra INR 1000 is expected to be paid by candidates who are applying after the last date.

AP ECET 2021 Admit Card

The exam conducting authority has issued the hall ticket at www.sche.ap.gov.in/ECET. Candidates can download the hall ticket by providing the registration number and date of birth. Candidates need to mandatorily carry the hall ticket on the date of the examination. Candidates can download their AP ECET 2021 admit card by following the below-given steps.

AP ECET 2021 Qualifying Marks

Candidates will have to score a minimum of 25% marks (of the total allotted marks) to obtain a rank in the AP ECET 2021 exam. That is a minimum of 50 marks out of a total of 200 marks is required to be obtained by the candidates to get a rank.

  • There is no minimum qualifying percentage for candidates belonging to reserved categories.
  • The rank obtained with the benefit of relaxation of the minimum qualifying marks at the AP ECET any candidate claiming to belong to the SC/ST category will be cancelled in case the claim is found to be invalid.

AP ECET 2021 Cut Off

The AP ECET 2021 cut off will be released by the official organizing body, which is the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. The candidates should make sure to meet this cut off in order to secure seats or admissions into top institutions for professional courses.

AP ECET 2021 Counselling

Based on the rank obtained by the candidate in AP ECET 2021 a merit list will be prepared. Candidates scoring higher marks will be placed higher in the merit list, whereas those scoring lower marks will be lower in the bottom.

Candidates featuring in the merit list will be called for the document verification process. After the document verification candidates will be allowed to take part in the registration and choice locking process. Counselling will be done based on the candidate's performance in the AP ECET 2021 merit list.

In case a tie among one or more candidates (in regards to merit list) following methodology will be followed.

  • One with higher marks in mathematics will be placed higher
  • In case the tie persists then the marks of physics and chemistry will be compared
  • In case the tie is still not resolved the one who is elder will be place
  • To settle the case if the tie persists even after considering the above 3 parameters candidates will be awarded the rank.

AP ECET is conducted by the JNTU (Jawaharlal Nehru Technical University), Anantapuram on behalf of the APSCHE.

AP ECET will be conducted in the online mode i.e; Computer-Based Test.

What to do in case a candidate wants to challenge the provisional answer key for AP ECET?

In case a candidate wants to challenge the AP ECET 2021 provisional answer key, an email can be sent directly to the APSCHE with the objection format that can be taken from the official website. There is no fee applicable to challenge the answer key.

Who can apply for AP ECET 2021?

Only the students who are residents of the state of Andhra Pradesh can apply for the AP ECET 2021 examination.

How will the candidate receive the admit card for AP ECET?

The AP ECET Admit Card can be downloaded from the official website by logging in with the credentials. The candidates will not be receiving the hall ticket through any other means.
