West Bengal Talent Support Stipend Scholarship

West Bengal Talent Support Stipend Scholarship is an initiative by the government of West Bengal. WBMDFC (West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation) is the governing body for the Talent Support Program. WBMDFC undertakes activities to promote the economic welfare of minorities. This scholarship is given to students who have completed their final examination securing less than 50% marks. The last date to apply for fresh application is February 28th, 2023. Besides the West Bengal talent support stipend scholarship, the state government also provides several schemes for minorities.

West Bengal Talent Support Stipend Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

The scholarship is meant for minority groups with less academic excellence. The detailed eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

• The scholarship is open for students belonging to the minority communities (Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Sikhs, Parsis, Jains).
• The financial aid will be provided to students of class XI up to PhD.
• Candidates must have passed their last final examination with less than 50% marks.
• The annual income of the family should not be more than 2 Lakhs.
• Distance learning students are not eligible.
• Only 2 students can apply from one family.
• Students already benefitting from other scholarships cannot apply.

West Bengal Talent Support Stipend Scholarship Rewards and Benefits

The details about rewards and stipend are given below:

• The stipend will be as per the standards of WBMDFC
• The scholarship will be for the duration of 1 year only
• There is no option for renewal available to the candidates
• Ex-candidates will be rejected automatically

Application Process for West Bengal Talent Support Stipend Scholarship

Candidates have to apply online for the scholarship. The detailed application process is mentioned below:

1. Go to the official West Bengal talent support stipend scholarship portal by clicking here.
2. Students first need to register and create a user ID and password
3. After the registration process is complete. Students have to log in using their user ID and password
4. After logging in successfully, the candidates need to fill in their personal details
5. The candidates then need to fill in their bank details as the amount will be transferred directly to the bank account of the candidate
6. After giving all the details, the candidates have to click on the “Apply for Scholarship” option
7. Candidates need to fill in their last examination details, present institution details, and family income details
8. Once the application process is over, the students can download the filled application form

• Page of passbook indicating the name
• Account number IFSC code
• Income certificate can be issued by Pradhan/ Ward Councillor/ Gazette Officer/ MLA/ MP

Guidelines for filling the Application Form

• Students can fill the application in as many sittings as they want
• Candidates can edit any information that they want until the final submission of the form
• The candidates must have a valid bank account in a nationalized bank

Scholarship Selection Process

The candidates are shortlisted based on the following criteria:

1. 30% quota of scholarship has been reserved for girls
2. Applicants can check the status of their submission to see if they are accepted or rejected
3. The applicants have to login in on the portal using their login ID and password
