All candidates who are Indian nationals and belong to Person of Indian Origin (PIO) or Overseas Citizenship of India (OCI) category are eligible for IISER 2019 admissions. Foreign students are also eligible to apply under JEE Advanced.
There are pre-announced eligibility criteria set by the University. These are obligatory norms which the aspirants must follow before filling the application form for IISER.
If candidates eligibility does not fall under the pre-set terms and conditions for eligibility for IISER examination, their application form for IISER examination will be rejected.

JEE Advanced Channel
Below is the IISER 2019 Exam Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates can apply only through three key channels for the IISER 2019 examination which are given below:
Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) Channel:
Qualifying Exam: Candidates must have a valid KVPY fellowship commencing from the 2018-2019 session.
Joint Entrance Examination(JEE Advanced) of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT—JEE) Channel:
Qualifying Exam: Candidates must qualify the JEE Advanced exam & secure a rank within 10000 in Common Rank List.
Relaxation: For OBC-NC/SC/ST/PWD category Candidates, Their category rank will be considered.
For State and Central Boards (SCB) Channel:
Qualifying Exam: Candidates must pass 10+2 examination with science stream(PCM) in 2017 or 2018.
Minimum Marks: Candidates have to secure marks equal or above the cut-off percentage in their respective boards to qualify for IISER 2019.
Relaxation: There is 5% relaxation in qualifying marks for the OBC-NC & PwD category.
Cut-Off Percentage: For reserved SC/ST/KM category candidates, the cut-off percentage marks is 55% in 10+2 level for all boards.
Candidates who score marks equal or more than the cut-off list mentioned below are eligible to apply for the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) 2019 test.
There is a relaxation of 5 percent for students from OBC-NC and PWD category in IISER 2019.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree to satisfy eligibility criteria for IISER 2019 examination.
Candidates who are going to clear their 12th examination in the current year are also to write IISER 2019 examination.
Candidates must have passed their 12th examination to satisfy eligibility criteria for IISER 2019.
Foreign students and students from PIO or OCI category both are eligible to appear in the IISER 2019 examination.
Candidates belonging to the General/OBC-NCL Category must score at least 55% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree without rounding off to satisfy eligibility criteria for IISER 2019.
Candidates belonging to the SC/ST and PWD Category must score 50% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree without rounding off to satisfy eligibility criteria for IISER 2019.
