IISER Bhopal which is short for Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, was established in the year 2008 in Madhya Pradesh and the director at that time of the college was professor Vinod K Singh. The campus is in an area of over 200 acres. The college provides 16 different courses at various levels such as undergraduate, post graduate and doctorate. The college has 10 different departments and there are a total of over 1716 students in campus.

IISER Bhopal Admission

IISER Bhopal has a joint admissions committee(JAC) who manages the process of admission in the college. Students who are interested in taking admission to IISER Bhopal will have to visit the admission portal in the official website of the college.The selection process for undergraduate programs is based on merit/scores obtained in the qualifying examination such as JEE(advanced), SCB, KVPY.  The last date to apply for the SCB exam is tentatively in September 2025.

IISER Bhopal Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility criteria for IISER Bhopal depends on the entrance exams taken and their previous education level.

BS-MS(dual degree) Eligibility Criteria

• The candidate should have completed 10+2 level in science stream with marks above the cutoff percentage are eligible.

M.Sc Eligibility Criteria

• Students should have completed bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline with a mark of 60% are eligible.

 Ph.D Eligibility Criteria

• Candidate’s age should be less than 28 year as per the date of birth recorded in the matriculation certificate.
