Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram [IISER TVM] is an autonomous institute, established in 2008 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The main objective of establishing IISERs in different parts of India was to ensure quality education in the field of science in undergraduate and postgraduate levels and to carry out research in frontier areas of science.

IISER Thiruvananthapuram has a fully residential campus of 200-acres at the foot of Ponmudi Hills, with all the facilities for a world-class educational institute. IISER Thiruvananthapuram courses include undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs in fields of science.

The central library of IISER TVM is fully Wi-Fi enabled and has a collection of textbooks, reference books, e-books, journals, video journals, magazines etc. The library is open from 9 am to 10 pm on working days and 9 am to 5:30 pm on holidays.

Sports Facilities:

There is outdoor and indoor sports facility in the campus. An indoor sports complex with facilities for gymnasium, basketball court, badminton court, volleyball court and tennis court is available.

Health Centre:

A health centre with the availability of doctors and nurses round the clock is available on the campus. In case of advanced medical care, an ambulance is available to get to better hospitals.

Residential complexes:

IISER Trivandrum is a residential campus and has residential facilities for students, faculties and staff.
