Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Berhampur is an autonomous institute established in 2016 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD). The main objective of establishing IISERs in different parts of India was to ensure quality education in the field of science in undergraduate and postgraduate levels and to carry out research in frontier areas of science. 

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research is now operating on a temporary campus. IISER Berhampur courses include BS-MS and PhD programs in the field of science.
