Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship is offered at the University of Waikato, New Zealand. Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

This scholarship scheme takes into consideration the academic and extra-academic achievements of the candidate. It involves apt testing of adequate technical skills and leadership skills along with other soft skills. The following is the detailed eligibility criteria for Sir Edmund Hillary scholarship:

• Candidates must excel at academic, sports, creative or performing art.
• Candidates who have achieved a minimum of NCEA Level 3 with a Merit endorsement are eligible.
• Candidates who have achieved University Entrance and admission to their program of study are eligible.
• Candidates who have or will achieve the equivalent to the above in Cambridge International Examinations or the International Baccalaureate examinations are eligible.
• Candidates who intend to study at the University of Waikato at either the Hamilton or Tauranga campus are eligible
• Candidates must have demonstrated leadership quality, through positions of responsibilities.
• Candidates who have taken a year drop can also apply for the scholarship provided they have the necessary credentials for selection.

Sir Edmund Hillary Scholarship Rewards

The value of the scholarship is decided after taking into consideration the total time of the candidates' undergraduate degree, provided the candidates have a good academic performance during their undergraduate. The following is the detailed list of rewards awarded to the candidates  availing the scholarship:

• The scholarship offers up to $10,000 per year for full-time graduate students
• The selected candidate will receive personalized support
• The candidates will also be guided by leading coaches/ teacher in their area of sports/ arts
• The selected student will be coached in leadership skills and personal development
