Max Planck Luxembourg PhD Scholarships

Max Planck Luxembourg PhD Scholarship is an initiative taken by the Max Planck Institute Luxembourg for International, European and Regulatory Procedural Law to encourage foreign exchange and research amongst students. The Max Planck Institute Luxembourg offers scholarships to international doctoral candidates for financial assistance in their research work up to  6 months. The institute offers a limited number of scholarships every year which depends on the domain of candidates applying. The deadline mentioned above is tentative.

Max Planck Luxembourg PhD Scholarships Eligibility Criteria

The scholarships are applicable to international students who are pursuing research in the relevant area. Further details about the eligibility criteria are as listed below:

• Applicants must be doctoral candidates.
• Applicants must be pursuing research within the institute's domain of available research areas.
• The candidates' research should be primarily in the areas relating to the Department of European and Comparative Procedural Law or the Department of International Law and Dispute Resolution only.
• Candidates must have English proficiency (however thesis can be published in other languages too).

Max Planck Luxembourg PhD Scholarships Rewards

Applicants are offered monetary rewards as well as exposure and mentoring by professionals. Detailed rewards about the scholarships are mentioned below:

• The scholarship reward will be paid in 6 monthly installments of EUR 1.500 per month.
• Scholars will be offered a workstation in the reading room and will have complete access to the library.
• Scholars are welcomed to attend the different events and activities ongoing in the institute.

Candidates have to apply online through a portal. The detailed application procedure is listed below:

• The students are required to fill in the details carefully ( personal information, a questionnaire about current research, thesis, and areas of research interests, a cover letter of application, attach important documents like CV, PhD summary, etc and finally submit the form).

Max Planck Luxembourg PhD Scholarships Selection Process

The candidates will be selected by a panel of experts from the institute and will be informed about their selection online. Further details about the selection process are mentioned below:

• The selection of a candidate will be based on the quality of their application form.
• Students will be selected on the basis of merit, their academic achievements, the relevance of their area of research to the institute's domain of research departments.
• Students will be judged on the quality of their PhD summary and their research work (originality, contribution to the improvement of a particular aspect of research and development, etc).
• The number of students selected isn't fixed and it depends, entirely on the panel.
