Life Time Contribution Award in Engineering

The Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) offers the life time contribution award in engineering 2023 to eminent individuals belonging to any branch of engineering within the scope of INAE. The award aims to recognise and appreciate the remarkable contributions made in the field of engineering. The academy awards a cash prize and a citation for the winners of the award. The last date to receive nominations for the life time contribution award in engineering is March 31st, 2023.

Eligibility Criteria of Life Time Contribution Award in Engineering 

Indian citizens who have made remarkable contributions in engineering, education, research, technology development, or services or management related to engineering can be nominated for the life time contribution award in engineering. The eligibility criteria are as follows:

• The candidates should be Indian
• If the nominees are INAE fellows, they should not be a member of the governing council of INAE at the time of receiving the award.
• They should make a remarkable contribution in engineering research, education, development, services, management or technology development to receive the life time contribution award in engineering 2023.
• The nominees should have brought recognition to the country through their outstanding contribution.
• Their work should be regarded as the country's landmark of technological excellence. 

Rewards of Life Time Contribution Award in Engineering 

The INAE offers a maximum of two awards in a year. However, the academy holds the right to not recommend the life time contribution award in engineering for any year. The awardees will receive the following benefits: 

• The selected nominees for the life time contribution award in engineering 2023 will receive a cash prize of INR 5,00,000 and a citation to commemorate their extraordinary work.
• INAE will request the awardees to deliver an inspiring speech based on their engineering experience during the INAE annual convention. 

How to Apply for the Life Time Contribution Award in Engineering? 

The academy will invite the INAE fellows to submit the nominations through the digital platform. If the fellows cannot make the nominations through the digital platform, they can submit a  proforma. While filling the proforma, the fellows should write a concise statement about the nominees' distinguished and remarkable contribution towards engineering. 

The nominees cannot nominate themselves for the life time contribution award in engineering. The nominations are valid for three years, and the academy will accept re-nomination as well. The stepwise process to apply for the life time contribution award in engineering are as follows: 

Step 1 - The candidates should visit the official Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) website.

Step 2 - The INAE fellows should log in to their account.

Step 3 - They should click on the INAE life time contribution award in engineering on the dashboard.

Step 4 - After selecting the life time contribution award in engineering, the portal will direct them to a nomination page with two options:

1. Fellow nomination
2. Non-fellow nomination

Step 5 - The fellows should click on the button as required.

Step 6 - They should fill in the nomination form and submit the same.

Step 7 - After submitting the form, the fellows should take a print-out for the record. 

Nominations Through the Proforma 

INAE prefers the fellows to nominate the candidates through the digital platform only. However, if they cannot submit the nominations through the digital platform (after repeated attempts), they can submit them by filling the prescribed proforma. Selection Process of Life Time Contribution Award in Engineering 

The nomination process for the life time contribution award in engineering is done online. First, a panel under the chairmanship of the INAE president and three vice-presidents will evaluate the nominations. Then, after careful evaluation, the panel will recommend two nominees for the life time contribution award in engineering to the governing council.
