Karunya Varsham Scholarship

Karunya Varsham Scholarship is conducted by Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology (LMCST). The scholarship scheme dispenses financial aid worth INR 1.6 Crores. It aims at helping students with academic brilliance overcome financial instability. This remarkable Scholarship offered by Lourdes Matha college has encouraged students to pursue a full-time engineering course in their Institution.

Note: The last date of application mentioned above is tentative and is subject to change at the provider's discretion.

The Karunya Varsham Scholarship was introduced in the year 2016 by Lourdes Matha Catholic Educational Society (LMCES) as a part of their extension activities. Lourdes Matha College of Science and Technology comes under the ministration of LMCES. The Scholarship Scheme was a desideratum for Social Responsibility.

Karunya Varsham Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:

The candidates are shortlisted based on the Scholarship Scheme examination entitled Karunya Varsham Examination. Qualifying in the examination is the major yardstick to secure allowance.

• Students who have secured 60 percent or above marks in plus one are eligible for the Scheme.
• Students must qualify through KEAM (Kerala Engineering Architecture Medical) examination.
• Those who have qualified to get admission for B.Tech during  in LMCST are eligible for the Scholarship.
• For the Renewal of Scholarship, students must clear all the subjects in the first attempt in each semester.

Selection Process for Karunya Varsham Scholarship :

The candidates are selected based on the following criteria: 

1. His/ her weightage is at least 50 out of 100 in KVS examination as well as 10+2 taken in a consolidated manner.
2. The cut-off mark of at least 70 percent in both the KVS examination and plus 2 will be considered.
3. If candidates have secured 70 percent in both the exams, top 33 candidates are considered as selected students and they will be favored with the allowance.

There is an online and offline application process available for applying for the scholarship:

• Online Procedures: Students can apply through the Scholarship portal "Karunya Varsham Scholarship Scheme for B-Tech". The student will be requested to upload a recent photograph along with the application.

Rewards and Benefits of Karunya Varsham Scholarship:

The shortlisted and awarded students are provided with the following benefits:

1. The first 33 students pinned in merit list based on their plus two examination marks (50 percent in Maths, Physics, and Chemistry) are eligible for 100 percent tuition fee remission i.e, A reimbursement of INR 75,000 for those students who study in LMCST.
2.  Top 10 students among the selected meritorious candidates are eligible for a designated Scholarship worth of INR 20,000 (INR 5000 per year). This is procurable if they are studying engineering in any self-financing colleges in Kerala including LMCST.
3. All eligible candidates who have qualified in KVS examination and cleared the mentioned parameters will be provided with INR 10,000 as Scholarship. 

33 Scholarship merit seats are allotted into different branches.
