The Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) provides the INAE woman engineer of the year award 2023 to those who have made an excellent contribution to engineering and technology. The academy aims to recognise and honour eminent women engineers every year. The nominees should be between the age of 40 to 60 years of age. INAE awards a cash prize of INR 2,00,00 and a citation to the winners of the INAE woman engineer of the year award. The last date to submit nominations for the INAE woman engineer of the year award has not been updated yet.
Note: INAE Woman Engineer of the Year Award application for 2023 still needs to be updated. However, the expected date for 2023 will be declared soon.

Eligibility Criteria of INAE Woman Engineer of the Year Award
The academy will grant the INAE woman engineer of the year award to three women engineers every year. They will select one candidate who has made a commendable contribution in each of the following three categories:
- Academia
- Industry
- R&D
The eligibility criteria of INAE woman engineer of the year award are as follows:
- The candidates should be Indian citizens.
- They should be women engineers whose innovation has made a breakthrough in any field of engineering and technology.
- The candidates should have contributed towards advancing the knowledge of the engineering professionals.
- They should be between the age of 40 to 60 years.
- If the nominee is an INAE fellow, then she should not be a member of the INAE governing council when receiving the award.
Rewards of INAE Woman Engineer of the Year Award
The INAE fellows can nominate women who have made remarkable contributions to engineering and technology. The academy will recognise and honour the deserving candidates by offering a cash prize of INR 2,00,000 and a citation. The goal of the INAE woman engineer of the year award is to motivate young budding women engineers in the future. The academy will grant three awards every year in honour of their work during the INAE annual convention.
How to Apply for the INAE Woman Engineer of the Year Award?
The academy will invite nominations for the INAE Woman Engineer of the Year Award every year. The nominations will remain valid for three years, and re-nominations are allowed after two years. Only the INAE fellows can submit the nominations for the INAE woman engineer of the year award as per the prescribed proforma. However, the fellows cannot nominate themselves.
The INAE fellows can submit the nominations by filling the prescribed proforma and sending the printout of it to the executive director of INAE. Given below are the stepwise procedure to submit the nominations for the INAE woman engineer of the year award:
Step 1 - The fellows should visit the official Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) website.
Step 2 - They should download the proforma by clicking on the 'view form' button.
Step 3 - The INAE fellows should duly fill in the form with the correct details.
Step 4 - They must also make a concise statement about the nominee's remarkable contributions in engineering and technology.
Step 5 - Next, they should email a scanned soft copy of the nomination form and the supporting documents or appendices to inaehq@inae.in.

Selection Criteria of the INAE Woman Engineer of the Year Award
The selection panel consists of Prof Jai Krishna, Prof SN Mitra memorial awards and INAE outstanding teachers awards under the chairmanship of the president with three vice-presidents. The panel will carefully evaluate the nominations and recommend a woman engineer for academia, industry and R&D. They will submit their recommendations for the INAE woman engineer of the year award to the academy's governing council.
