The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India welcomes applications for the ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme from ICAI members with a minimum of 75% marks in Class 10 or 12. The scholarship will be granted to designated Ph.D. scholars from UGC recognized Indian Universities/ Deemed Universities/ Colleges, IIMs having University/IIMs accredited Ph.D. program to pursue and accomplish their Doctoral Research in Auditing, Taxation, Commerce, Management and Accounting Discipline. The selected scholars will receive a scholarship of INR 50,000 per month and other bonuses. The last date to apply for the ICAI Doctoral scholarship scheme 2023 has not been updated yet.

ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for availing ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme are given as follows:
The applicant must secure the membership of the ICAI with minimum 75% marks/grade in 10th and 12th standard.
The candidate must be a PhD scholar from a recognised university/institution pursuing doctoral research in Auditing, Taxation, Commerce, Management and Accounting discipline
He/She should not be more than 40 years of age as on the last date of application
The candidate must not be availing benefits under any other government scholarship/fellowship.
ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme Rewards and Benefits
The candidates who are eligible for the ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme will be awarded with scholarships worth INR 50,000 per month for a maximum period of 36 months. There is a contingency grant up to 50,000 per year. The scholarship will be awarded to registered PhD scholars from UGC recognized Indian Universities/ Deemed Universities/ Colleges, IIMs having University/IIMs accredited PhD programme to pursue and complete their Doctoral Research in Auditing, Taxation, Commerce, Management and Accounting Discipline.
ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme Application Process
The application form for the scholarship will be on the official website of ICAI.
Applications are invited through ICAI website, ICAI journal, mass email to members.
The application along with research proposal & abstract (3000 and 300 words respectively) and all the enclosures, must be sent to: Research Committee before the last date mentioned in the advertisement duly signed and stamped by the Ph.D. Registered institution.
ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme Documents Required
The candidates who are applying for the scholarship are required to:
Prepare a research proposal and abstract in 3,000 and 300 words respectively.
Certificates of other enclosures.
ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme Selection Criteria
Every year 5 candidates will be selected. The initial analysis will be done by the Research Committee Secretariat. Thereafter, the subject group(s)/Expert Committee(s) will shortlist the meritorious nominations from eligible applications. Such applicants may also be invited for a presentation before an Expert Committee at ICAI- HO or its COEs/DCOs. The recommendations of the Expert Committee will then be put before the Research Committee for its final approval.
ICAI Doctoral Scholarship Scheme Terms and Conditions
The ICAI may ask for annual presentation/mid-term appraisal of the research work.
If a scholar leaves the scholarship before its full-term, he/she must inform ICAI in advance.
NET/SLET and M Phil from a recognized university will carry weightage in the assessment of the research proposal.
