The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) sponsors the DRDO-ITR Chandipur junior research fellowship 2023. Candidates with an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in engineering and technology can apply to the fellowship programme. Eligibility Criteria for DRDO-ITR Chandipur Junior Research Fellowship
The Integrated Test Range (ITR), a distinguished laboratory of DRDO, has initiated the DRDO-ITR Chandipur junior research fellowship for young motivated candidates. They should hold a degree in engineering from a recognised institution. The other details of the eligibility criteria are as follows:
- The candidates should be Indian
- They should not be over 28 years of age at the time of application. However, the management provides an age relaxation of five years for SC/ST and three years for OBC categories.
- They should hold a first division degree in BE/BTech or ME/MTech.
For BE/BTech Degree Holders
- The candidates should have a valid GATE
- They should hold a BE/BTech degree in any one of the following disciplines:
- Computer Science and Engineering (CSE)
- Information Technology (IT)
For ME/MTech Degree Holders
- Candidates should hold a ME/MTech degree in any one of the following fields:
- Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE)
- Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering (ETC)
- Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (E&I)
- Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (A, E & I)
Rewards of DRDO-ITR Chandipur Junior Research Fellowship
The selected students will obtain an opportunity to participate in research at the Integrated Test Range (ITR) of DRDO. They will secure a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position and receive a monthly salary of INR 31,000 per month. In addition, they will also receive HRA and medical services as per the government norms.
The DRDO-ITR Chandipur junior research fellowship is tenable for five years. The fellows will initially work for two years, and the management will elevate them to the Senior Research Fellow (SRF) position for the remaining three years, depending on their performance.

- They will interview the shortlisted candidates through video conferencing by Cisco Webex.
- Candidates should submit a valid email ID and mobile number for contact.
- The committee will make all communication through email.
- The offer of the DRDO-ITR Chandipur junior research fellowship does not mean absorption in DRDO.
- The management will terminate the candidature in case of canvassing by any means.
- DRDO will conduct police verification and medical tests as per the government norms.
- The management will not offer TA or DA to the shortlisted candidates for attending the interview.
