The ABV-IIITM Gwalior DST-SERB junior research fellowship 2023 provides an opportunity for candidates with BTech, BE, MSc, MTech, MS and ME degrees to be a part of a research project. The ABV-Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management (ABV-IIITM) is a distinguished autonomous institute set up under the MHRD, India. The selected fellow will receive a scholarship amount each month along with medical allowances as per the rule. ABV-IIITM Gwalior DST-SERB Junior Research Fellowship Eligibility Criteria

The institute looks for eligible students who have a strong passion for research. The DST-SERB (SRG/2020/000471) sponsors the fellowship. To be eligible, the candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must not be more than 32 years old as on March 30th, 2022.
  • The candidates should have a degree in one of the following courses:
    • Bachelor of Technology [BTech]
    • Bachelor of Engineering [BE]
    • Master of Science [MSc] in EC, CSE, IT, EE or equivalent
    • Master of Technology [MTech]
    • Master of Science [MS]
    • Master of Engineering [ME] in EC, CSE, IT, EE or equivalent
  • The BE/BTech and ME/MTech students should have specialised in the relevant branch.
  • The applicants should have a qualifying NET/GATE score.
  • The BE/BTech, ME/MTech, and MSc students should have secured first class marks or equivalent.
  • The candidates should know the fundamentals of VLSI and machine learning.
  • ABV-IIIT Gwalior will prefer candidates with prior background in VLSI and machine learning.
  • Candidates with expertise in wireless communication, cognitive radio networks will be given preference.
  • The students with commendable programmung skills in MATLAB, Python and C++ are also eligible

ABV-IIITM Gwalior DST-SERB Junior Research Fellowship Benefits

The selected candidates will get an opportunity to work as a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under Dr. Binod Prasad's mentorship for a project. The project is called Machine Learning Aided Self Sustainable Future Wireless Networks. The job position is based temporarily, and the initial appointment is for 1 year. 

  • The selected candidates will work as Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for one year. However, it might extend to three years based on the applicant's performance. 
  • They will receive INR 31,000 per month along with HRA.
  • The institute will also encourage the fellows to apply for a regular Ph.D. degree in the ABV-IIITM Gwalior per the guidelines.

ABV-IIITM Gwalior DST-SERB Junior Research Fellowship Selection Process

ABV-IIITM Gwalior solely selects the candidates based on their academic merit. The selection committee will shortlist the candidates after they mail their resume to the ABV-IIITM Gwalior's principal investigator. However, the committee will not invite all the applicants for an interview. The selection process are as follows:

  1. After the candidates send their resumes, the institute will shortlist them based on their academic merit.
  2. The committee will invite the shortlisted candidates for an interview through an email. They will also mention the interview date in the mail.
  3. The shortlisted candidates can attend the interview in person or online. 
    1. Note: The institute will not provide Travel Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) to the candidates attending the interview.
  4. The selected candidates will work as Junior Research Fellows (JRF) for one year. However, the institute reserves the right to terminate the candidates after giving a one-month notice period if their performance is unsatisfactory.
