NIFT Counselling 2025: SPOT Round Result (Out), Document Verification, Admission Process

The NIFT Spot Round Seat Allotment Result is now available as of August 08, 2025. You can check your allotment result by logging into your candidate portal at https://nift.admissions.nic.in. If you’ve been allotted a seat, make sure to download your Provisional Admission Letter from the portal.

Admission fee payment starts on August 08, and will remain open until August 10, 2025. You must also report physically to your allotted institute on August 11, 2025.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) officially extended your deadline for paying the Registration Fee and Academic Fee for the Spot Round 2025. You were given time until 10:00 PM on August 05, 2025, to complete the payments..

Registration for the Spot Round is open from August 1 to August 4, 2025. Document verification for newly registered candidates under Spot Counselling is being held from August 1 to August 5, 2025. This Spot Round is being held to fill the remaining vacant seats in UG and PG programs.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) has released the round 3 seat allotment result on July 28, 2025. The deadline for withdrawing from the NIFT admissions 2025 process was July 29, 2025, at midnight. The Round 2 Seat Allotment was published on July 18, 2025.

If you secured a valid Common Merit Rank (CMR) in the final result, you were required to register for counselling on the official NIFT counselling portal between June 24 and July 1, 2025. Registration was mandatory to take part in the counselling and seat allocation process. The NIFT seat allotment 2025 occurs in four normal rounds and a Spot round. 

The last date for registration was July 01, 2025, and the deadline for choice filling and locking was extended from July 04 to July 06, 2025 (12:00 midnight). The Round 1 Seat Allotment Result was released on July 07, 2025, on the official website.

NIFT 2025 Counselling Highlights

The National Institute of Fashion Technology conducts the NIFT 2025 counselling process for the qualified candidates after the NIFT 2025 result is announced. The spot round is the final round of seat allotment, so candidates will not be allowed the option to withdraw their seats. If the candidate withdraws after the spot round, then the fees deposited will not be refunded. Eligible candidates could register online on the official website. 

Only candidates who meet the following conditions can revise their academic preferences:

• The candidate has paid the counselling fee and has opted for the slide option in Round 1 or Round 2 of NIFT 2025 counselling.
• The candidate has paid the fee and has opted for an upgrade during Round 1 or Round 2.
• The candidate has not been allotted a seat in the first two rounds of NIFT 2025 seat allotment.

If the candidate doesn’t avail of this opportunity and revise their preferences, in that case, the original preferences entered by the candidate at the time of NIFT 2025 counselling registration will be considered for seat allotment.

Candidates are selected based on their performance in the entrance exam and PI rounds. NIFT counselling 2025 is conducted for applicants who have cleared the exam. They will be called for counselling based on marks scored. Applicants are required to bring their original documents and certificates during counselling.  

Candidates will receive an email with a direct link to their call letters. Candidates must use their login credentials on the official website to download their call letters. Candidates can track the availability of seats on the official website of NIFT. Go to the website, click on the admission section, then click on the live status option. A tracking sheet will appear with the category-wise allotment of seats.

If the applicants fail to bring the required documents and certificates, their admission gets cancelled. Note that the applicants cannot bring downloaded mark sheets and certificates. However, the shortlisted applicants can log into the official website and check the counselling dates. For NIFT counselling 2025 dates, the applicant must register themself on the official website of the entrance exam.

The allotment of seats is based on the NIFT 2025 merit rank of the candidate and options selected by the candidate during counselling registration. Eligible candidates can apply for the counselling process on the official website.

NIFT Counselling Eligibility Criteria 2025

To participate in the NIFT counselling procedure, the candidate must meet the following requirements.

1. For UG Programs

• AICTE/AIU/UGC or a State Board of Technical Education recognizes a 3- or 4-year diploma in Fashion/Apparel/Textile and Accessories/Home Science/Handloom Technology/Products/Visual Communication/Graphic Design/Industrial Design/Interior Design/Multimedia Design/ Apparel Technology/Leather/Fine Arts. OR passed a 10+2 test certified by AIU.
• Completed a two-year regular UG Diploma at NIFT after finishing 10+2.

2. For M.Des and MFM

• The candidate must have passed an undergraduate exam in any discipline or
• Completed a three-year UG diploma from NID/NIFT. 
  

3. For M.F.Tech

• B.F.Tech from the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) or B.E/B.Tech from any recognized institute.
  

NIFT Counselling Registration Fees 2025

As part of the registration procedure, the candidate must prioritize academic alternatives and campus while also paying the registration fee. The registration price for NIFT counselling in 2025 is INR 9,300. The NIFT 2025 seat allotment will take place in four normal rounds and a SPOT round. 

The allotment will be based on the merit rank and academic options picked by the candidate during the decision process. Candidates who are assigned seats must pay the seat acceptance fee by the specified deadline. The NIFT 2025 seat acceptance fee is INR 1,83,200.

Steps to Register for NIFT 2025 Spot Round

Spot round registration will start in July 2025 on the official website at nift.ac.in. Below are the steps to register for NIFT 2025 counselling. It is recommended to fill in as many choices as possible to optimise one’s chances of admission.

• Step 1: Visit the official website and log in using the login credentials.
• Step 2: Candidates need to fill in their choice of participating institute and academic program. Entries should be in the order of priority.
• Step 3: Submit the registration form.

Documents Required for NIFT Counselling 2025

Before appearing at the allotted counselling centre of NIFT, candidates must carry all the necessary documents required for the verification process. Candidates will also get a mail regarding this in their call letter for NIFT counselling 2025 process. Also, the institute will return all the original certificates except the Medical Certificate after the verification process is completed.

The documents required for NIFT counselling 2025 are listed below.

• Valid PWD Certificate (if applicable)
• System generated letter/e-mail received by the qualified candidate at the time of registration for counselling.
• Two passport-size Photographs and 4 stamp-size photographs.
• 10+2/ equivalent exam certificate of passing.
• Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Category Certificate from the specified authorities.
• Semester Fee – Demand Draft of Rs. 1,45,950/- (Non-NRI) drawn in favour of NIFT HO payable at the city of the counselling.
• Certificate of clearing 10+2/ equivalent examination, showing the subjects offered by them in the exam. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for B.F.Tech.
• Undertaking for the candidate seeking provisional admission-(Annexure-I)
• Undertaking from the students as per provisions of anti-ragging (Annexure-II)
• Form for withdrawal of admission (Annexure-III)
• Undertaking about eligibility, fee and refund (Annexure-IV)
• Medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format (Annexure VI)
• Authorization letter from the candidates who cannot attend NIFT counselling 2019 in person (Annexure-VII) (not applicable for PWD candidates)
• Copy of 12th class school leaving certificate (only for domicile seats)
• SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy) category certificate if applicable
• Certificate from the Board from which the candidate passed the High School/Higher Secondary Examination.

As per the reservation criteria, seats are reserved for each program for SC/ ST/ OBC-NCL and Differently Abled Candidates (PHP)/ Foreign Nationals/ SAARC/ NRI. The seat allocation for the reserved categories is tabulated below.

NIFT Counselling 2025 Withdrawal of Seat & Refund of Fee

Candidates who have taken the admission but wish to cancel the seat allocated to them can request a refund of the fee. In such a case, candidates will have to report personally at the NIFT campus where they have taken admission and request a refund of the admission fee.

So it is advised that candidates must think twice before giving their consent for the allocated seat at the time of counselling. Otherwise, they have to follow the above process to cancel the seats.

NIFT Seat Matrix 2025

The NIFT Seat Matrix 2025 gives thorough information on the availability of seats in different categories for NIFT's undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The conducting body has issued the NIFT 2025 seat matrix on its official website.

There will be 5289 seats available for individuals who pass the NIFT 2025 examination. Of the 5289 seats offered, 1238 are for postgraduate studies, 652 are for BFTech courses, and 3392 are spread across undergraduate programs.
