What is SEED Exam?
Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design [SEED] is a Design Aptitude Test conducted by Symbiosis International University, for admission into B.Des programmes at Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) and Symbiosis School of Planning, Architecture, and Design (SSPAD).
Every year SEED is conducted by Symbiosis International University. SEED is a National Level Entrance Test which is conducted once every year. SEED 2021 will be conducted on May 2021 offline i.e. Pen and Paper-based Test (PBT).
SEED offers admission to Bachelor of Design (B.Des) programmes in Graphic Design (GD), Video Film Design (VFD), Animation Film Design (AFD), User Experience Design (USD), Product Design (PD), Interior Space Design (ISD), Fashion Design (FD) and Fashion Communication (FC)

SEED Exam Dates 2021
SEED 2021 notification hasn't been released yet. We will update the dates as soon as it gets released. As of now, tentative SEED 2021 dates are provided below according to which candidates can start preparing for the exam. Candidates who clear the SEED will be called for the Studio Test and a Personal Interaction at the Institute after the results.

SEED 2021 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have passed 10+2 or 10+3 (Diploma) or equivalent from a recognized university/board with a minimum of 50% marks for general category and 45% for SC/ ST category candidates. This is no upper age limit to apply for SEED. Candidates of both Indian nationals and foreign nationals can seek admissions through SEED.

SEED Application Form 2021
Application Form will be available on the official website of Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) from January 2021 to April 2021 tentatively. Candidates must pay the registration fee of INR 2750/- (INR 1750/- for SEED and INR 1000/- for the institute). Candidates can pay the Application Fee online Net Banking/ Debit Card/ Credit Card.

SEED Admit Card 2021
SEED 2021 Admit Card will be available on the official website tentatively from the last week of April 2021. Candidates should download the Hall-Tickets from the University website https://www.set-test.org. Admit card contains the details like your full name, test centre address, date of exam, test timing and instructions.
Candidate must carry government ID proof such as Voter Id, PAN Card, Aadhar Card, Driving License, Passport along with the Admit Card. Candidates are advised to read the instructions on the admit card carefully and follow them during the conduct of the examination. You should not discard the admit card after the SEED must preserve this authenticated Admit Card for further PI-WAT processes in the future.
SEED 2021 Exam Pattern
SEED 2021 will be conducted offline i.e. Pen & Paper-based Test (PBT) tentatively on the first week of May 2021 at 80 test cities across India. The question paper will be Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ). SEED 2021 will consist of 150 questions for 150 marks.
The time given to complete the examination will be 2 Hours 30 Minutes i.e. 150 minutes. One mark will be awarded for every correct answer and no negative marking. The question paper will be in English.

SEED 2021 Syllabus
You should keep in mind that SEED is a Design Aptitude Test and the followings are indicative topics. The questions might also be drawn from similar and relevant topics.
Visualization: Understanding and visualization of simple and complex 2D & 3D geometric shapes, their manipulations and spatial relationships through representations in pictorial and geometric forms.
Observational, Perceptual and Reasoning abilities: Ability to read and see objects and information beyond obvious details, make connections, make comparisons, form opinions, draw meanings & conclusions. Analyze your observations, express your point of view and present in a systematic and structured manner.
Creative and Problem-Solving abilities: Ability to visualize and relate images around us. Ability to identify a problem and attempt to provide solutions.
Application of Basic knowledge of Science and Mathematics: Observing applications of basic principles of science and mathematics learned up to standard 10th in the day-to-day activities & objects and finding interesting relevance.
Art, Craft, Culture, Design, and Environment: General awareness of Art, Craft, Culture, Design, and Environment in Indian as well as in Global context - Various topics and sub-topics, people, material, tools, techniques, issues & concerns, influences, period, and contemporary trends.
SEED Results 2020
Results were declared on the official website on June 2, 2020, for all category candidates based on qualified marks. Candidate has to download the SEED Score Card from the website only. All candidates who appeared for the Entrance Test will be awarded SEED 2020 test-wise Ranks as per marks secured in the test appeared. There is no provision for revaluation or personal verification of the OMR answer sheet.
SEED 2020 Studio Test and Personal Interaction
- Admission Process: After the result of SEED 2020 was released, SID does not hold any counseling but a two-step process. One is the Studio Test and the other is Personal Interaction.
- Venue: Both the Studio Test and Personal Interaction are held on the same day at the SID campus at Vimannagar, Pune, Maharashtra.
- Final Selection: Final selection would be based on the cumulative performance of the candidate in SEED, Studio Test and Personal Interaction as well as on the basis of the information provided by the candidate in the application form and his/her first preference of the disciplines offered.
