What After CEED Exam? Counselling Dates, Create Portfolio

After the CEED exam is over, you must prepare for the further processes, i.e., counselling, admission, and interview rounds. Every year, IIT Bombay holds the CEED 2026 joint entrance test as a requirement for admission to the Master of Design (M.Des) and PhD programmes offered by the participating colleges. 

For the Master of Design programmes at the IISc Bangalore, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIITDM Jabalpur, and IIT Kanpur, as well as the PhD programmes in Design at the IISc Bangalore, IIT Guwahati, IIT Bombay, IIT Kanpur, and IIT Hyderabad, candidates must qualify the CEED exam. 

What are the Steps After CEED Exam 2026?

The counselling process is held right after the results are declared and the qualified candidates will be allowed to participate in the counselling session. The rest of the process that takes place after CEED exam is as follows:

1. Check Your CEED Results 2026

The CEED 2026 results will be declared on the official website in March 2026, at ceed.iitb.ac.in. You can access the CEED results 2026 by visiting the official website and login using your email address and password. The CEED 2026 result link will be updated once available:

2. Create a Portfolio

You must complete the application process for admission into IITs and IISc after receiving the CEED results. Each college releases its application forms at a different time and independently of the others because this process is not centralised. Additionally, you should be prepared to present the best and create at least two to three work samples, the forms yourselves frequently request to submit sample works. 

Further, all the design enthusiasts must keep your samples ready that you can immediately include in your application forms, such as sketches, items, models, digital works, etc. It is extremely encouraged to start preparing such works if they don't already exist.

Tips to Create a Portfolio

Here are some great tips to create a successful portfolio that will sway the faculty panel:

1. You must have the idea that the sole purpose of creating a portfolio is to demonstrate your abilities. Therefore, ensure you include all the artwork that showcases your skill set rather than what you believe to be a nice finished result. 
2. Labeling your portfolio properly is advised. As a result, make an effort to introduce the project you have listed in your portfolio. But keep your introduction to just one line. 
3. Ensure your portfolio has a proper table of contents, career goals and objectives, and work samples, and if you have personally worked with clients include their testimonials. 
4. Besides, focus on your portfolio, and presentation and accurately represent your interests, concepts, experience, and design-related skills. 

CEED Counselling Process 2026

The CEED counselling process 2026 will be conducted tentatively in April 2026. You will be required to accept the seat allotment before the due date. Given below are the CEED counselling process:

• Design Aptitude Test Screening: The first step of the CEED counselling process is the design test where the candidate will be tested for their creativity, observation, creative thinking, design knowledge, etc, This test will be conducted online.
• Personal Interview: The candidates are assessed based on various parameters during the personal interview process. Once selected, the candidates must submit the required documents such as photocopy, identity proof, educational documents, etc for verification
