CEED 2020 Exam Pattern

Before the CEED Exam candidate should go through the exam pattern to get a clear view of the CEED question paper. By understanding the pattern candidate can plan study for success. The CEED 2020 Exam Pattern is mentioned below:

  • The CEED 2020 Examination will be conducted in two parts — Part A and Part B. All candidates must answer both the parts.

  • Part A is a computer-based screening test. It evaluates environmental and social awareness, visualization and spatial ability, language and creativity, analytical and logical reasoning, observation and design sensitivity. Part A contains objective type questions — numerical answer type questions (NAT), multiple select questions (MSQ) and multiple-choice questions (MCQ). Candidates who are shortlisted in Part A will qualify for the evaluation of Part B.

  • Part B evaluates drawing, creativity, communication skills, and analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • The final CEED score will be calculated by giving 25% weight to marks obtained in Part A marks and 75% weight to scores obtained in Part B.
  • Mode: CEED 2020 consists of two modes, Part A will be the Computer-based Test and Part B will be Pen & Paper-based Test. 

  • Exam Date: CEED 2020 will be conducted on 19th January 2020 and the candidates must bring Admit Card without fail to the CEED 2020 Exam Centre.

  • Duration: The duration of the exam will be of three hours out of which Part A and Part B will be of one hour and two hours respectively.

  • Marking Scheme: Part A will be given 100 Marks and Part B will also be awarded 100 marks. The negative marking is applicable only for Part A.


CEED 2020 Exam Pattern for Part A

  • Question paper: The question paper will consist of 45 questions. Part A which comprises of 3 sections in which MCQ/ MSQ and NAT based questions are asked. The candidates can check the CEED model question paper in order to understand the pattern.

  • Marks: The section carries a total of 100 marks. And there will be no breaks during the given exam time.

  • Duration: The time to attempt Part A is One hour on the date of the exam which is conducted through online mode i.e. Computer-based Test.

  • Section Overview: The MSQ (Multiple Select Questions) contains 10 questions with multiple answers to one question. In the NAT (Numerical Answer Type) section, the candidates should attempt the questions and mark the answer only by using a virtual keyboard on the monitor.

  • Multiple-choice questions: One should choose only one option for the multiple choice question. There are no choices for the numerical answer type questions.

CEED 2020 Exam Pattern for Part B

  • Duration: CEED 2020 Part B will be of 2 hours duration which is in offline mode i.e. Pen and Paper Based Test.

  • Marks: Part-B is of 100 marks. One should attempt the first 3 questions are compulsorily and the next 4 questions are optional to attempt.

  • Eligibility: Only those candidates who have qualified in the Part A CEED 2020 will be qualified to attend the Part B Paper.

  • Type of Questions: The candidates have to attempt drawing based questions and writing skills based questions in this section.

CEED 2020 Marks Distribution

  • The First will be based on Memory Drawing which carries 30 marks.

  • The Second will be based on Sketching Ideas which carry 20 marks.

  • The Third will be based on Writing Skills which carry 10 marks.

  • The Last and optional Design questions carry 10 marks each.


CEED 2020 Important Instructions

  • The total time duration of the examination will be 3 hours. The question paper contains two parts - Part A and Part B. Part A will be of one hour and Part B will be for two hours. Part B will start post end of Part A. Part A cannot be attained once Part B begins.

  • Both the questions of Part A and Part B will appear on the computer screen. Answers to Part A are to be attempted via the computer. On the other hand, answers to Part B are to be given in the answer book.

  • Blank paper sheets will be given for rough work for Part A. However, it is mandatory to provide the rough sheets to the invigilator post the exam.

  • Charts, graph sheets, tables, calculators, cellular phones and other electronic gadgets are not permitted inside the examination hall.

  • In Part B, color pencils, crayons, sketch pens, etc. can be used unless there are any specifications regarding the same in the question paper.
